Take the word "Mexican" out of your quote and replace it with "illegal immigrant" and/or "not American". Illegal immigration in the US is not a race issue, and the only people playing the race card are the Mexicans. Mexicans do not own illegal immigration and they don't speak for all immigrants. Look at how Mexicans treat illegal immigrants to their own country and suddenly the US seems very generous and accomodating.
