Boots The Chemist was the only source of what they then called "purified water". It came in 5 Litre transparent plastic containers, for my first fast of 25 days back in 1977/8. Cannot be sure if it was distilled though. Never bothered to find out. Whatever it was, I am still alive to tell the tale.
