Re: Maybe cotto salami

I guess you must not know that White schools have teachers with more experience, more money, and more resources than schools with mostly minorities? White kids grow up with more resources, money, better nutrition, and all of those things that give one an equal chance with everyone else who has the same amount of resources. You can bet that my neighbors' children will do much better than their uneducated and poor parents and likewise their children's children will do even better... but the point is moot... All of our children are being fed into a war machine... for Corporatism's(read NAZI)greed. Your mother was probably more educated than her mother..and so on... You have to start somewhere... but if you are angry at someone who got a hand up then perhaps you should not vote or be allowed to own property? That is the way it was before Women's Suffrage. It is funny how soon some forget the hand that helped them out of the hole...so in forgetting the hand that helped them out when they were on the bottom...when the next person wants out...they would just assume push the one trying to get out back in...

Where is the magnanimity in pushing somebody down? I would argue that it takes whole lot of people to make one a success in this life. I am just glad that when I was homeless Vet, with a broken neck for the second time in my life that somebody told me about a vocational rehabilitation program and how to get college paid for. It changed my life forever. Instead of dying of starvation, there were foodstamps to help me until I could work again. Instead of having no electricity for a hot plate and a space heater, the city game me a break and paid my utilities one month. I was glad beyond measure for school lunch programs so I could feed my children when they came to visit me during the Summers. I was so glad that there were people and a community in my life who didn't let me slip through the cracks to die somewhere of hunger and deprivation. I will never forget it. And I will never ever...ever vote Republican again...
