Endo, PTSD & Hormones
Hi ~
I had endometriosis and also had surgery and Lupron therapy to treat it. But it was not until I found out about Dr. Redwine's theory and contacted a local colleague of his that I was finally on the road to mending. I did have additional surgery that was consistent with Dr. Redwine's approach. I also did a lot of natural therapies and healing on my own which have finally resolved all of my symptoms and endometriosis is now a thing of my past.
Here is a link to Dr. Redwine's website...

This particular page discusses his theory and approach to endo which differs greatly and is far more positive than the vast majority of other physicians that are working in this field. I was unable to travel to Oregon to be a patient of his, but his office staff were very helpful at put me in touch with a doctor in Chicago that is a friend of his and basically follows the same approach.
Also... I assume that you an understanding of PTSD and have already been diagnosed with it. There is still not a lot of understanding about PTSD... especially as it applies to women and civilians. They are now finding that the number of women experiencing PTSD is quite high, and some of the symptoms are even more devastating to women than they are to men and even male vets. PTSD is much more than a psychological condition and there is a growing understanding that it has profound physical and hormonal components. Because the endocrine system is so very complex I would suggest that you work with someone who is familiar with both PTSD and also hormonal imbalances.
Here are some links that discuss the physical and hormonal effects of PTSD...

I am also now dealing with PTSD myself and I can tell you that it is not something to be taken in any way lightly. And because of the complexity of the interactions with hormones, I would be very careful... even with using natural approaches such as herbs or bio-identical hormones. I can also say that PTSD symptoms can appear quite suddenly and rapidly progressive with extensive consequences in a very short time. I am glad that you are very soon beginning your treatment for it... and you may find that in time many of your hormonal issues will also be resolved. In addition to conventional PTSD treatment... there are also a growing number of alternative and natural treatments that are now recognized as also assisting in the healing process.
