Re: oral short term prednizone -only thing that finally helped my severe exfoliative cheilitis
Yeah i agree. The idea does seem to conflict. When i first read it, i noticed someone did similar treatment (cortisol injection) and saw improvements but didn't cure. Reading corticoisteroids/cortisol can alter the function of cell(skin) membranes to age faster, Melatonin is doing the same but to age slower. I was just trying to make a connection of our improvement... it was flawed, since the threadstarter didn't say it was a cure.
I'm not saying cortisol is the cause of how you first got EC. I'm saying its the cause of the growing skin problem(which everyone hates), which doesn't mean high cortisol levels in the blood but the lip skin cells have been altered by chronic cortisol due to chronic inflammation. A cortisol deficiency can occur from too much cortisol being produced, thats why i asked those questions... to see if anyone has symptoms of adrenal fatigue. I'm not a doctor either.. i haven't got all the answers and i've been busy recently and havent looked in depth past the treatment i'm doing but i am seeing positive results, nothing like this in a decade. I'm actually just waiting day by day. The skin has stopped overgrowing, it is fantastic. Like i said, when i do a photo update 2morrow.. i'll try to go in detail on what i think...we are on the right path. Peace.
