Re: calorie restriction diet forum
Kathryn, I'm delighted that someone is interested in what I'm doing. Thanks for your support. You ask what I'm doing with my diet. So here goes:
I've been on a mostly raw food diet for about five years. I decided to try the calorie restriction diet because for one thing I was about 20 lb. over my ideal weight. But that was not my real motive. I'm more interested in the longevity aspects of the diet, especially since I'm 80.
I'm doing all raw and am still adjusting the amounts of protein vs carbs so that I feel my best . as per William Wolcott's book, The Metabolic Typing Diet ,which is similar to Eat Right For Your Type, but somewhat better in my opiniion.
I'm also using virgin coconut oil. The vegetables I use are low glycemic index like celery, cucumber, etc. Raw liver or sardines are my choice, so far, for protein, but I may iniclude something else later. The whole thing is open to change if it appears to be not working. I weigh 198 lb. and am willing to go down to 170, if that's where the diet takes me.
And Oh yes, I'm using Perfect Food too, so that I'm sure my diet is more than adequate. I've also been doing colemas and
coffee enemas for detox. Also I've built a little sweat box and do those almost every day. This last week I've been doing saltwater oral enemas. If your not familiar with them you can find info. on Life Events. org, a one week Salt Water Cleanse. I would also like to hear what you all think about this!
