Re: Committing to the following
Hi Luella,
good to hear from you.
Should msteve666 add L-Carnitine because of his arrhythmia ?
Well, something we have all overlooked I think.
From my records I find.........
L-Carnitine protects the heart & reduces arterial plaque. It is also meant to lower LDL cholesterol, and increases the HDL levels. This applies to healthy people I think as well as patients with heart disease.
It helps to lose weight. Carnitine is important in weight loss because it helps convert body fat into fuel (ketosis). I think it also raises levels of some enzymes needed to metabolize sugars, starches and other carbs.
It increases mental alertness & converts to acetyl-L-carnitine in the body, which improves brain function. It also prevents brain-cell death and protects nerve cells from degeneration due to aging or disease.
In my view it would be sensible to supplement with 500mg of L-Carnitine per day

Most Nutritional advice these days centres around taking a good quality Multi Vitamin/Mineral, which I would say is essential in this day and age to combat the deficiencies of our soils.
So yes to that as well.
Tonys advice of course is (as expected) very good advice.
Warm Regards
Chris
