Are you using citric acid as an activator?

If you are, try using distilled white vinegar as an activator for a few days.

citric acid may be causing the blurry vision.

Also, are you using a juice to dilute the taste?

It may taste bad, but if you use only white vinegar as activator, and use only water to dilute the solution, and do that for a few days you will have a good idea if citric acid is the culprit.
