Sorry, I keep forgetting to tell you. ALA (alpha lipoic acid) is a great binder of mercury and therefore an excellent chelator. You probably shouldn't use ALA until you get your fillings out, because a SINGLE daily dose of ALA won't keep the blood level high enough to prevent redistribution. (plus your fillings are an inexhaustible source of mercury)

This is the conventional wisdom anyway. I haven't ever tried taking ALA WITH amalgams, so I can't tell you for sure. But if you take (for example) a multivitamin WITH ALA (many of them have ALA these days) and you start noticing weird symptoms like tiredness, brain fog, forgetfulness, unexplained joint pain, unexplained aches and pains...anything abnormal......suspect mercury redistribution and try stopping the ALA source.
