Thanks for your thoughts(yes it was directed to you:)). My doctor(an M.D. who prefers natural methods) gave me 20 mg a day this past June, but it scares the patooty out of me. I only take about 2.5 mg a day. Even that small of an amount makes a difference in how I feel. I am a type 1 diabetic also and have been on insulin for 20 yrs. I really feel like this disease taxes one's adrenals with all the highs and lows. I don't feel like mine is autoimmune(could be wrong), but more just the stress of the diabetes and hypothyroidism. I hadn't "felt" a low blood Sugar in over 10 yrs. Most people feels shakey and sweaty and hungry. I would just get very lethargic and numb. The FIRST dose of cortef I actually FELT typical low blood Sugar symptoms. It was truly amazing. I do need to get back with my doc. I mentioned the swelling to him and he didn't seem too concerned. It drives me a little crazy though. I noticed it actually seems less when I take more cortef. I figured that to be a good thing. Thanks again for your perspective it is very helpful.
