Re: Kidney pain
You have to adjust the dose as you go - your goal is to have the most effective dose with the least amount of uncomfortable detox. We are giving you conservative answers because we don't want to overwhelm you. If you are willing to go through the detox, that is your prerogative. It's a game, really, and you seem to have an intuition. High doses of less than 100 mg of
Iodine will not kill you, but kidneys are not something you want to damage, so manage your detox.
You wanted suggestions, but none of us can choose for you. However, you might want to take a day or two off, see if you feel better and go back to 60 mg for a few days. Then after that, try the third tablet. Or half the third tablet. Or go on 30mg a day until you feel better then up again. Often after a break, we are able to up the dosage where we could not before without problems. Just monitor yourself, salt loading, supplements, elimination, breaks.
Yes, do the salt loading and supplements even if you don't take
Iodine that day.
You are doing remarkably well to be so new at this, at least I think so. Has your temp come up yet?
My diet is very similar to yours, but I eat a lot of low carb vegetables too. I saw you had added eggs and cream, but there is virtually no carbs in either of those, so you can afford to eat some vegetables, cooked or raw. Just for now, avoid the starchy ones. Protein is the best thing to control low or high blood sugar, IMO, and I think you are very intelligent in your choices. Just don't throw all caution to the winds. I was on diabetic medication for a few years and when blood
Sugar comes down in someone who has had high blood
Sugar levels for a long time, one gets symptoms of low blood
Sugar even though the blood sugar technically is not low. So I know what those feel like--not good, so I understand your drive. By the way when I had been on
Iodine for nearly four months, I got off all my medication, diabetic, hypertension and
Depression and have been off it since. So iodine is very good for blood sugar! Have no doubt!
Keep posting. Lots of people will learn from your experiences.
