Here is where I am at on this issue:
"the body chooses to let go of essential minerals, not water itself unless, the body has to use these minerals to structure the water into a form that it can use."
"What are your thoughts on that?"
Thank you for your interest in this very important health discussion!
First let me tell you what got my mind going on this theory...
About 2 years ago I noticed many health authorities recommending distilled water for detoxing, so I bought a distiller and started getting into cleansing. Well within 2 months I was worse off than when I started, so I wondered why? A friend of mine who is very health oriented told me that she read that distilled water is bad and leaches minerals from your body and should only be used for very short periods and for certain remedies and that’s it! I started looking into it and felt very confused because some say its good and some say its bad. But my body was telling me its bad so I stopped. Within a couple of months I started feeling much better and so I was certain I did the right thing by stopping.
The one thing that really concerned me was the design and material of the distiller. I noticed that the steamed water was condensing into metal tubes that were made in CHINA!! I called the manufacturer to find out what the metal tubing was made from, but they would say, “All I know is the container is stainless steel.”
Just so you understand what I am saying here, let me express this idea:
Distilled water leaches and that is why the plastic container that you keep your distilled water in must be a certain grade of plastic because otherwise it will leach the chemicals from the plastic.
That said, we also know that empty water picks up inorganic (not sure about organic but I suspect these too) minerals, just as rainwater picks up minerals from rocks and soil. So what is going to stop the distilled water from leaching from the metal condenser???
Best that we can do is test the theory for ourselves just as Mercola has suggested! Stop with distilled for a couple of months and return to charcoal filtered tap and see what happens.
By the way, did you go to the website and look at the pics of distilled water vs spring water under darkfield microscope?
I will continue to look at this issue and post what I find.
Be well
