Studies have consistently shown that heavy consumers of soft drinks (with or without sugar) spill huge amounts of calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals into the urine. The more mineral loss, the greater the risk for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and a long list of degenerative diseases generally associated with premature aging.
Was this a controlled experiment? It doesn't make sense to me that people who are health orientated would be drinking sodas and avoiding other types of foods that have refined sugars or various types of artificial sweeteners. For one thing, at least one of those sweeteners is said to be responsible for chromium loss in the body. Why did someone blame the water and not the sweeteners?
Since distilled water is like a vacuum without any minerals, it will actually leach beneficial minerals from your body to balance it out. While this maybe beneficial for a short period during some sort of detoxification regimen, this is usually highly counter productive in the long run.
I plea some ignorance on this but it seems to me that the body chooses to let go of essential minerals, not water itself unless, the body has to use these minerals to structure the water into a form that it can use. What are your thoughts on that?
Thanks for posting that information.
