Re: Eating in restaurants: Should I even think about it?
My candida diet is protein and vegetables. Unlimited vegetables. You are limited because you are vegan. Actually protein is necessary for tissue repair and if you are healing candida, protein can be helpful. And adequate protein cuts carb cravings. The Mexican tacos with grilled beef, onions and cilantro would be on my diet, and cilantro is so good for detox. Add the radish that they serve with it and you have just jumpstarted your liver. You could have any protein, with any number of vegetables or salad if you eat out. Even McDonalds has a grilled chicken salad. If there is a Chinese restaurant, they will make you a Chinese stir fry, no mushrooms, no MSG. Check out the Mexican restaurants and see which ones use processed cheese and which ones don't. Then you can have their refried beans topped with cheese. Their salsas are great for nutrition, tomatoes, onions, cilantro. I have tomatoes and they do not bother me because I do not have them more than once per week, probably less.
I was vegetarian for several years. It reduced my high blood pressure. It also made me, after six months to a year, very tired. Then I did well on meat and fruit. Now I do well on protein and lots of vegetables, which in most instances, I eat separately. I now use
Sea Salt rather than
table salt and I no longer have high blood pressure. I eat a lot of fish, both frozen and canned. I didn't like fish much before, but now it seems I crave it. Last time I went to the store I bought ten fillets of tilapia.
So it may be that at this stage of your life, vegetarian is not your best option. Try a few things and see how you feel. Your mono diet is no life, and I can see you are not feeling it either.
