Re: Eating in restaurants: Should I even think about it?
Can I ever relate on the dating thing! Want to go out? I am itchy and can't eat, but.... And I totally relate about the social aspect. Most every activity involves eating or drinking SOMETHING! Very hard to deal with for me as well.
As for corn, on the diet I follow it is a definite "no", but I allow myself as I mentioned corn tortillas once in awhile. I wouldn't go overboard and make them your carb staple. There are alternative grains that might be a better choice, buckwheat, quinoa (delicious!) and millet. I make waffles from buckwheat, quinoa, flax seeds, ground milk thistle and walnuts, pecans or almonds and
Sea Salt . I always make sure I rinse the nuts thoroughly as they are made in a place that always packages peanuts and I don't want peanut dust (or any other dust) in my body. You'd be surprised how dirty the water is from rinsing them. I love my waffles and with coconut oil, they are particularly good.
As for a salad bar, I haven't tried that as I am guessing their salad ingredients aren't as clean as I would like. For a long time my candida was so bad that I could not tolerate raw vegetables, only cooked. I used to work in restaurants and know that they aren't as careful as I would be, if you know what I mean. But again, if it works for you, great.
I eat alot of slow cooked chicken, in the crock pot. I put a chicken breast in when I go to bed with some rosemary and garlic and have it for breakfast. Sounds strange I know, but it is delicious. I also have steamed veggies with brown rice pasta. Just some alternative ideas to consuming corn tortillas as anything we eat alot of could become problematic, as I understand it. Good luck!
