Re: Eating in restaurants: Should I even think about it?
Many thanks, sickofhives. Sounds like good advice. I have really strong willpower, so I've been doing pretty well all these months. I've simply avoided restaurants. The few times I've eaten out, it's been at certain place on the way to my parents' house (in another state) that has a great salad bar.
It's also the social part of eating out that I'm struggling with. The holidays always bring invitations, etc., and this will be my first holiday season on the diet. I won't even get into the dating dilemma ("Sorry, I can't ask you to lunch because I can't eat in restaurants.").
You mentioned corn. Can you (or anyone else here) eat corn tortillas? I've been eating lots of them (with butter) as my substitute for bread. I seem to have been doing fine with them, but I wonder about other people's tolerance. My diet is down to 6 or 7 things total. The tortillas are kind of my lifesaver, but I wonder if I should cut them too. Ahh, maybe I don't want to know. Not sure what I would do without them.
Thanks again.
