But for those who have no serious problems it seems like a huge expense - and how would you know the life expenctancy of the person with and without those fillings, anyway? It just seems like speculation.

And the fillings that will take the place of the old silver ones, how do you know that the particular patient will not have an adverse reaction to that?

There are many miserable things that we are exposed to on a daily basis. Pollution, preservatives and other chemicals in food, parasites we drag into the house on our shoes, our pets, public restrooms.

It is just part of the world in which we live.
Should all of these things be changed? It would be nice.
But sometimes that just becomes too expensive to contemplate.
I suppose if I were wealthy, I would have my fillings replaced, just to be safe.
I also would get many massages, and join a gym, and get acupuncture and frequent a Chinese herbalist.
I would buy a green car and visit gurus in India.
I would volunteer for the Bill Gates foundation.

I would do all these things to be healthy and feel good about moi.
Since I do not have mucho bucks, I must prioritize and fillings are just not on the top of the list. If I get cancer or have a heart attack, there can be so many factors which contribute to that - I doubt that mercury is the main culprit. Golly, the pollution in the air from car exhaust that I breath in every day could play a much larger part in that picture.
