Re: Someone, please answer Ailsa's question
Ailsa,
As I understand it, larva are coughed up from the lungs. Then they make their way through the stomach, into the intestines, where they grow to adulthood, mate, and send eggs toward the lungs once more.
If you can spit, you are breaking the life cycles of some kinds of parasites...big time!
Okay, I'll tell my gross procedures...
...Vaccuum the nasal mucus, etc., from the back of your throat, with your mouth muscles. I find there is often some coughed phlegm back there, too, even when I have just spit. Do this quite gently, as you don't want to set up habits.
...Oil-pull, then use a clean dry facecloth to wipe the inner surfaces of the mouth.
As you use your cloth or paper-towel covered hand to reach the back of the tongue, you'll find that the soft palate, at the upper back of the mouth, is gently stroked and a deposit of nasal mucus will easily come away...most days.
(I like to polish the teeth a little, too...using a cloth-covered fingernail to clean closer between the teeth.)
As I say, be gentle about any of this. These are delicate tissues you are dealing with, and they will serve you well for many years if you treat them gently.
And, don't tell anyone you read this here!
I'll deny it!
