Water 101 for Dummies

Hi all,

I could really use some help with this one. I know there is no one answer because alot is opinion, but I would like to clean up my drinking water.

I use a brita water filter (I felt all of you cringe)and have been for 10 years. Like I have said in previous post I don't have much time due to work and elderly care, so I don't have much time for research. I thought I would ask opinions if I could about which water system to get or what water to use. I have read on here about distilled and all the distilled that I see in the stores are in plastic bottles which I would like to stay away from.
