Mad (angry not crazy) is more empowering than sad, right? I am going by the train of thought that being mad is better than being sad, since mad is more action-oriented and control taking and thus closer to healing. Sad is more of a passive "I give up" submission that is also a communication to others that you are weak (in the best possible sense) and need help. Of course one doesn't want to be mad either but it beats being sad if it gets you closer to the goal of happiness (or other goal). So what is the next higher level to achieve after getting mad? And then after that...?

*I guess self-actualization could be at the top, as in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs but I'm sort of pulling things out of my arse now...
