picking her way down the side of the cliff dunes,
keeping low to the sea oats
Starr gets closer to the ship
searching and listening for any signs of life..
hearing none, she loads an arrow into her bow and boldly walks across the sand quickly to the back side of the boat.
she is breathing hard and wondering if this is some trap... of the gods perhaps?
or maybe a gift (she hopes)
she did pray to the great sea dolphin
before she fell asleep last night
blinking back tears of fear, she quietly climbs the rope ladder
and peers over the side...
Starr gasps at what lies directly over the rail..
2 men both grasping a piece of paper
and both with swords thru their bellies..!!
they stink so horridly and are bloated from the sun.
it is obvious they have been dead and rotting like that at least 1/4 a moon.
the boat rocks slightly in the gentle washing of the waves.
Starr is curious as to why they each hold a piece of paper..
sucking in fresh air she bends over them.
and quickly snatches the paper from each man..
and notices that together the shapes seem to match...
what is this? ( she cannot read)
what are all these symbols?
why did they die both clutching such a fragile thing as this?
and were they fighting over it?
if so it must be very precious indeed...
for one to give up his life to hold onto even a part of it...
she folds the 2 pieces of paper and tucks them in her herb pouch,
and rapidly leaves this blood stained ship..
she wonders if the man with the blue hair on his face would know?
he said he was a seer...
a mystic...
(she remembers her grandfathers words
that a seer is a person to be trusted,
and knows the secrets of the dead)
she decides to try to find the *blue hair on face* Seer
and ask him the meaning of the symbols.
what did he call himself?
blue blue hmmm blue beard??
Lazuli??
