SUGGESTIONS?
I have completed one month of B&P's but have not yet passed any plaque. I am going to start another 1 month program and would appreciate suggestions on anything that should be added or changed.
I want to do a liver cleanse but prior to a liver cleanse I have read that a parasite cleanse should be done. I just bought the 30 day "Paraway" program by knowledge products.
The Plan
Day 1-14
Juice and cooked vegetable diet with 2 P&B shakes per day during initial 2 weeks of Paraway program.
Day 15
First liver flush.
Day 15-30
Begin all raw diet with juice and 3 P&B shakes per day while finishing last two weeks of Paraway program.
Day 30
Second liver flush
After completing above 30 day program if no plaque is passed I will consider some type of enema and do a 7 day juice fast with 3 P&B's per day.
If this still doesn't pass plaque then I give up.

Why not up the B&P's to 3 within the first 2 weeks? Did you get constipated on them before...is that why just 2 per day?
You're taking 1 tbsp of each? Drinking TONS of water?

This is a reply to # 584,186Bentonite constipates me even when I drink a lot of water so I only use it every 3rd day.
Only 2 shakes at first because I try to take them on an empty stomach for maximum benefit. This is difficult when eating 3 cooked meals a day so morning and night shakes only until I switch to my final 2 week raw/juice/fast diet.
Other than the occasional 1 tsp of Bentonite my shakes have 2tsp psyllium with a herb/fiber supplement. Is this enough or do I need the extra tsp? I have also started warming my water and presoaking the Bentonite prior to mixing the shakes.
Successes so far in the first month:
- I have lost 10 pounds (which is as low as I want to go)
- My skin is no longer off gassing built up toxins (I know this because my bath towel no longer has an odor to it)
- My bowel movements are 1 a day rather than every 3 days and do not give me cause to lock the bathroom door and hang the "enter at own risk" sign.
Still waiting for:
- The pain in my lower right side experienced after a meal to go away.
- Passing of plaque.
- My original goal of curing my halitosis and acid reflux. This flares up when I am stressed or hungry.
All of the above symptoms seem classic for clogged up bowels and liver. I am worried that if I don't get the plaque out I will revert back to where I started. By the way over the last two years I have seen at least four doctors and one ENT specialist for the above symptoms and they just kept prescribing ant acids.
I am also wondering if two Liver Flushes in a two week period will be too hard on me and if it is best to flush immediately before or after an enema (if I get desperate enough to do the enema)

That's fine that you don't take the Bentonite every time - people have gotten out mucoid plaque just using the psyllium.
What is the herb supplement that you're using with the psyllium? This might have something to do with not getting mucoid plaque out? The psyllium really seems to work well on it's own. But maybe it's the herb supplement that is keeping you regular? As long as it doesn't have any senna or cascara sagrada then maybe it's better for you to be regular...and you needn't worry about getting mucoid plaque out...? hmmm.
Have you done any Liver Flushes yet? I do believe that halitosis is directly related to liver health. Listen to your body - a Liver Flush every 2 weeks seems to work for many people...you'll be able to tell when the time comes if you feel you're up to it.
Also...how is your diet. Acid-forming foods (meats, grains, dairy, pasta, bread) is probably contributing to your acid-reflux.
The link below tells about the percentage of acid-forming foods and alkaline-forming foods we should have in our diet.
I know that when I get heart burn (this is similar to acid-reflux isn't it?) it's because I have eaten too many of the acid-forming foods. Drinking LOTS of water helps this...as well as a shot of 1 tsp baking soda in 1/3 C of water....burp a lot - then the burn is gone! That's just a bandaid however...the root cause is the diet.

If you consult the plethora of literature out their on mucoid plaque and its removal for the human GI the vast majority of sources will say that for successful removal one needs to either take a herbal concoction to help soften, loosen and remove the plaque from the colon walls (Holistic Horizons, Ejuva, Arise & Shine) or use Bentonite (Arise & Shine, Schultze, Bernard Jensen ). Psyllium alone will do not much good. Psyllium is a soluble fibre and its role in a cleansing protocol is to pull waste through the colon. It will gently scrape the walls of the colon but not to the extent required to remove plaque. One point regarding psyllium that might be pertinent to your situation is that psyllium, when mixed with fluids, expands to 40 times its dry volume. As a result it has the potential to be very very constipating indeed; far far more so than Bentonite could ever be. In your case I would bet that the psyllium is the cause of your constipation rather than the bentonite. Try just taking 1 teaspoonful of psyllium with one tablespoonful of Bentonite once per day, see how that goes then take the same dose twice a day, then if that is ok use 2 tsps of psyllium. Progress slowly.
You might find that you simply cannot tolerate psyllium. In that case you need to rehydrate the colon/body fully and that can take up to 5 months. If that is necessary you need to avoid psyllium and bentonite ( you don't want dry and hardened bentonite sitting inside you!) altogether and concentrate on rehydration. I would consider the Renew Life products

especially the Cleanse Smart. Read Brenda Watson's Renew Your Life book too. She is very much against psyllium prefering flaxseed and magnesium to hydrate and get the bowels moving.

This is a reply to # 584,196That's one person! When did she use just the psyllium? If she had conducted a Bowel Cleanse before with betonite & psyllium, herbs, and colonics it is hardly suprising. In addition, what type of diet does she eat? If she adheres to a strict mucusless diet then in time, a long time nonetheless, she will release plaque. Unless you know her entire history of cleansing you cannot state that you can remove plaque with psyllium alone. Moreover, what does a sample of one person tell you about anything? You cannot derive conclusions about treatment protocols from the experiences of one person. If you were to consult the literature on the subject (Dr Richard Anderson's studies for example) you will find that psyllium alone is not effective in removing plaque. These findings were based on years of research and involved thousands of people. I would tend to believe these findings than the experiences of one person.
Whilst this forum is indeed helpful it has the potential to cause considerable problems and be quite dangerous to people's health. Just because one person has used something with success it does not mean it will work for anyone else. I can see a lot of people reading something on these pages and then just diving on in an trying something which might on initial reflection actually turn out to be detrimental to there health. We should urge people to take on board ideas/testimonials on these pages but first reflect on their own situations before they try new protocols/treatments for themselves. We should be encouraging the spread of alternative health treatments undoubtedly but also encouraging great self awareness.- Re: hey! Tracey

If just ONE person has gotten mucoid plaque out with using just psyllium...I say that that means there's an exception to every rule!
I know that more than PTree has gotten out mucoid plaque using only psyllium, however.
And you say: You don't need psyllium to remove plaque. Concentrate on fully rehydrating the colon, then use herbs to soften and loosen the plaque and finally Bentonite to draw it out of you.
I'm sure it's Richard Anderson who says that Bentonite should always used with psyllium to ensure that it's swept out of your system. (even though he has taken Bentonite just on it's own to suck up toxins - he doesn't recommend others do it)
Anyway....what is your experience with getting out mucoid plaque SpadGHam?
My experience has been (no colonics, no cleansing prior) that by using psyllium and bentonite combined...and using NO HERBS...I have gotten out a 2foot ropes (like the Bernard Jensen photos), shorter ropes, weird hard rubbery pieces and minute frond-like things with balls on the ends of them. I have read posts of others who have gotten out mucoid plaque using NO HERBS too.
I'm just going by experience.
There is no ONE right way, I believe...we all experiment and see what suits us.

This is a reply to # 584,209I read your previous post on herbs and their effect on loosening mucoid plaque and was quite excited as I have not passed any plaque yet. I decided to try to identify which herb or herb mixture was responsible for the loosening of plaque. I took a look at the Colon Cleanse programs of four different companies, Ejuva, Rise & Shine, Holistic Horizons and Renew Life. I was surprised to find that all four companies used completely different herbs in their mixes. This would suggest that either there are many herbs that are capable of loosening mucoid plaque which I find difficult to believe or that there must be another common thread between the four programs. I took a closer look at the four Colon Cleanses and discovered that there is a common thread. All four cleanses use a bulking agent containing psyllium or something that mimics the effects of psyllium.
With psyllium being the only common ingredient it leads me to believe that the difference in herbal mixes is a reflection of different opinions on what herbs are best for tissue detoxing but that the psyllium is the ingredient used for moistening the colon walls and pushing out the plaque. How could so many different herbs all be capable of looseing plaque?
One of my posts bellow gives a complete listing of the herbal ingredients offered by the four companies referred to in this post.
Have you expelled much mucoid plaque without the use of psyllium? If so what herb or herbs do you feel were responsible for loosening the plaque?

Part 2 is very similar to the Fiber Smart that I am presently taking.

This is a reply to # 584,200As far as I know (my experience and seeing other people's experiences on here since November) it's the psyllium that gets the mucoid plaque out. The other herbs are either to soothe the bowel, or tonify them or detox them....all great things. But not necessary for getting the mucoid plaque out.
Since you've been constipated and the supplements you're taking right now and totally helping you to have good bm's then I say stick with them! Absolutely.
But I think you should take them at a different time than your psyllium drinks.
Take the psyllium drinks on an absolute empty stomach. And follow the directions for the supplements you're taking.
I'm sure you'll get mucoid plaque out!
(*people also get out mucoid plaque with Holistic Horizons Bowel Cleanse - it contains psyllium too)

This is a reply to # 584,201Thats what I though concerning the herbs, that they were for rebuilding the balance in your bowel and that the psyllium softened the plaque when if is hydrated to a gel and passed through the colon. The Bentonite was for electrical bonding of microscopic toxins and for killing bacteria.
As for taking the Fiber Smart and Psyllium separately it will be difficult as both should be taken on an empty stomach which is the same requirement for my morning and night parasite cleanse. Between all the cleanses I won't have much time to eat food.
Mainly I want to make sure that I am taking the correct concoction for loosening the plaque. It is my feeling that my best results will come on week 3 and 4 when I go on a partial fast and up my shakes to 3 a day. I hope I am right.- Re: Does my fiber smart have the pro... Tracey

This is a reply to # 584,202You are right! It is already a crazy scheduling jungle when you have to take the psyllium drinks seperate from the parasite cleanse - and THEY both have to be taken on an empty stomach! hmmmmm...
How long have you been parasite cleansing for? If it's been just a few days...maybe you should leave that until you've finished bowel cleansing. You'll have cleaned out the parasites 'livingrooms' and they will be easier to clean out too!

This is a reply to # 584,205Logical solution but I am eager to do a liver flush. I think it will improve my digestion and ability to detox. My wife has said for two years that the whites of my eyes are too yellow so I think I really nead the liver cleanse which means finishing the parasite cleanse first. I am not too confident that my liver is working well.
When the parasite and liver cleanse are done I think my system will be better able to detox the die off from a dietary fast and hopefully resulting plaque removal so this is why I am doing the first Liver Flush at 2 weeks just prior to stepping up the raw diet and increasing the shake to 3 per day.
I am however still very confused about the best herbs to promote plaqe removal. I checked out Arise & Shine, Ejuva, Hoistic Horizons and Renew Life and amazingly they are ALL DIFFERENT. This suggests to me that none of the herbs are specificaly required for plaque removal and likely serve only in a supportive role. I challenge you to find some herbs that are common to these programs that you might be able to link with the purpose of plaque removal.

Well...as I said before, I think that all is needed is the psyllium drinks taken by themselves.
My experience and many other's support this claim!
But...something is helping your constipation - we just don't know if it's the parasite herbs (PC has been known, when combined with the psyllium drinks to help with eliminations) or the other herbal supplement.
I'd tell you to stop the herbal supplement (rather than the parasite cleanse) but I'm worried that maybe it's the herbal supplement that is helping to keep you regular...?

possiblity #1 - Liver Flush at two weeks will flush parasites improving the parasite cleanse and clean liver and gallblader ducts of bile and stones improving my detox and cleanse.
possibility #2 - Liver Flush at two weeks will strip my liver of the accumalted herbs from the parasite program that are toning it and attacking the parasites reducing the effectivenss of the parasite cleanse.- Your new plan! Tracey

Your new plan sounds excellent!
Good compromise - 2 psyllium only drinks to 1 with Fibre smart.
One thing....the first psyllium of the day should be taken at least one hour away from the juice...or else the psyllium will latch onto the juice and you'll just get a juice and psyllium bm. The psyllium needs space in there by itself to act on the mucoid plaque lining your tubes!
I think your #1 choice sounds the best...after even 2 weeks of parasite cleansing the Liver Flush will be great! You may be surprised that you get some weird lookin' stuff out on that liver cleanse! Lots of people do, while parasite cleansing....it's good to remove those parasites, eggs and other stuff and the Liver Flush seems to do this.
I'm not sure about herbs after your one month schedule. It depends on what aspect of your health you want to concentrate on. I remember one woman a long time ago posting a long post about how she was spending two months on each organ. I really liked this idea! So she would take milk thistle and dandelion tincture (and dandelion tea etc - and other fresh herbs) for 2 months reeally concentrating on her liver gallbladder area. THEN she'd concentrate on her heart. Then move to a different organ. Don't you think that's a good idea? Plus you'll learn so much as you research each one. Foods, herbs and tinctures that are good. (I'm not much of a vitamin fan unless they're WHOLEFOOD vitamins) Still...better to eat or juice the right stuff.
So....I guess you'll cross that bridge when you come to it.

I will increase the juice to psyllium time period.
I like the targeting of herbs for a specific organ idea but reducing my transit time getting regular and cleansing the liver is first.
Unfortunately although I am more regular with one movement a day my transit time is still more than 24 hours and today was at almost 48 hours. Not good, must be plaque or dehydration or both. I still need work on the colon, I hope this next month helps.

This is a reply to # 584,220Make sure you drink 2 to 3 litres of warm water daily! Don't worry about your transit time...anxiety or desire for perfection causes constipation. Drink water, exercise, eat good foods - plus fruits that help move the bowel, jump up and down and relax...your transit time will speed up before you know it...

This is a reply to # 584,178While it is true that I am only one person...I happen to be a person who is 'in the business' as a colon hydrotherapist so I have an opportunity to see how a lot of people respond to various colon cleanses. I have not personally...nor have I ever encountered anyone...who was able to remove a significant quantity of mucoid plaque without the use of psyllium. I have tried flax fiber and have had clients who used it and no ropes. It is a good maintenance fiber, but I do not believe that it is the fiber of choice for an intensive colon cleansing program. Brenda Watson wrote a great book (Renew Your Life) and she is the president of the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy...she has some great products, but I take issue with her use of flax fiber as part of a colon cleanse. The concerns she raises regarding the use of psyllium are adequately addressed if a person is well-hydrated when beginning a Colon Cleanse and maintains sufficient water intake for the duration of the cleanse. Furthermore, I always advise my clients that if they wish to do an intensive Colon Cleanse they must be willing to do regular enemas or colonics. While some people are able to complete a successful cleanse without them...most people will experience some frustration, complications, limited success &/or cleansing reactions without them.
As for herbs which soften and loosen mucoid plaque...there are many herbs which can serve the same purposes. I would suggest that you pick up a copy of Robert Gray's book...The Colon Health Handbook. In it he describes several categories of herbs that work on various systems of the body (blood cleansers, lymphatic cleansers, etc.) and lists many of the herbs under each category. The Holistic Horizons products are based on his formulas. Unlike most of the other herbal Colon Cleanse formulas...his do not contain laxative herbs which do not facilitate the removal of the old gunk. The other formulas that you describe also contain a number of herbs that support and repair healthy GI functioning.
My very first colon cleanse years ago took about 2 months (on Holistic Horizons) to produce mucoid plaque, but once it got started I continued to pass it for 4 months! Some people pass it after one day, some take several weeks....and some need to reach 4-5 shakes a day before they see anything substantial. It sounds like you're already reeping some of the benefits....just stick with it and I'm sure you'll be rewarded!- Re: A FEW COMMENTS #162738

This is a reply to # 584,224Thank you for the optomism that eventualy I will have success. What is bothering me is not that it might take 2-3 months. I am concerned that I will waste 2-3 months by doing the wrong cleanse and then have to start all over.
I am presently supplimenting my psyllium shakes with Fiber Smart by Renew Life and I have had imporvements to my health but no plaque. Do you think that I should stop taking the Fiber Smart with my shakes and switch to Holistic Horizons combines with the shakes?

I have had an amazing bowel cleansing. I think Ptree really knows about this.
I have passed pounds and pounds of mucoid plaque. My bowel cleansing has been higly satisfactory and a complete cleansing:
emotional, energetic...
I think that the combination of herbs and psyllium present in HH products is amazing.
However, the cleansing requires to be patient because at the beginning I was bloated.
I havd not given thanks to Ptree yet because she was so busy moving out, but I really have missed her. Of course Tracey has been always there to give advice and all the wonderful people in this forum.

Thank you for such kind words...I am so glad to hear that the Holistic Horizons worked so well for you. I had the same experience with it....and if I ever get myself settled again I am going to start the program again myself. I'm still unpacking and getting acclimated to new surroundings....but I'll be back!

This is a reply to # 584,234Unless you're doing the Ultimate Fast...Master Cleanse + colon and parastite cleanse...I would not try to do a parasite cleanse and Colon Cleanse at the same time. It's just too hard to coordinate all the stuff you've got to take on an empty stomache...and eat during the cleanses. But that's just my opinion...if you've found a way to make it work then stick with it.
I would also either stick with the psyllium and Bentonite or do the Holistic Horizons program (no bentonite) and leave out the Fiber Smart (save it as a maintenance fiber after you've completed the cleanse). P&B is the cheapest and quickest colon cleanse...while being highly effective...but many people find it constipating. Holistic Horizons takes longer and is more expensive...but it is my favorite Colon Cleanse as it also cleanses the blood and lymph and helps to support the liver during the cleanse.
With either one I would also be prepared to do enemas or colonics to keep things moving...as well as drinking enough water. I know many people would like to avoid the enema or colonic part of the cleanse. Frankly, I believe that this is why so many cleanses on the market contain laxative herbs so that the consumer isn't complaining about constsipation while using their product since they won't do enemas of colonics. But the cost to the consumer is laxative dependence, impaired peristalsis and an ineffective cleanse. Keep in mind that just because someone moves their bowels several times a day doesn't mean they're cleaning old stuff out...laxatives just make whatever you eat go through you all the faster!

does this mean you continued on the P&B shakes for 4 additional months? Were you juice fasting for this long or on any kind of diet during the 4 mos?
