I can't remember & I know I asked this a long time ago...but I can't find all the posts on it...sorry to ask again. What exactly are the B&P shakes? Where do I get them & what do they do?
I am doing the Master-Cleanse Lemonade Diet on Monday, my goal is to go 10 days if I can (hopefully I do ok with work too)...(I have only made it 3 at a past attempt, but I am fed up with my sluggishness & being ill & just want to cleanse my body). I also want to do a 3day apple fast (I think) & a parasite one & a liver flush...I am just not sure of the order I should be doing?
Anyways, So, I don't really know about the b&p shakes? I have a lot of toxins in my body & this is the most unhealthy my body has been for as long as I can remember too.
I am excited actually about starting again :) I feel much stronger about it this time....I have one other question though? how does everyone find their sexual life while doing all this if that is a fair question to ask? Mine is really good right now & I worry about that changing? I know that sounds pretty weird, but just a thought that has come over me.

This is a reply to # 565,899The way I like to make Bentonite & psyllium shakes is as follows:
Put a little bit of lemon in a tall cup (1 tsp or so)
Put in a hint of stevia (it only takes a hint, it's so sweet)
Fill the cup half way with boiled water.
Top off the cup with cold water.
Put in 1 tablespoon liquid bentonite.
Put in 1 rounded teaspoon ground psyllium husk.
Stir briskly and drink immediately before it has a chance to set up too much in the cup.
Follow with a cup of lukewarm water (half hot, half cold).
What do B&P shakes do? Well, if Tracey doesn't chime in here, please post again with a subject line specifically asking for her, as I think she has a link for somewhere that explains it real well. Briefly, psyllium acts like a brush to clean out your colon as it passes through. Bentonite, I'm not exactly sure on but from what I understand it somehow absorbs toxins and ushers them out of the body through the colon.
As for sex life, I've not noticed anything different between me and my beloved husband. Only thing is I'm a bit cranky for the first few days of the cleanse, especially if I don't get sufficient sleep, so I get kinda "don't touch me, I gotta sleep!"
I'm at the end of day 3 of my 2nd cleanse (did my first Master-Cleanse last month but had to cut it short at 7 days coz we were going skiing, then I was eager to re-try for 10 days). I would urge you to go past 3 days if you can. Three days is barely long enough to get over the urge to eat solids. Day 4 or 5 seem to be when it gets easier.

I will go tomorrow & get those since I am starting on Monday :) Do you just start off with one shake a day & increase it or something? Is this a dash to the washroom thing like the salt cure or flush, or am I safe to drive to work (25 min drive) with this in me? hahaha, you never know & I think it is good to know these things first (there are no rest stops on my way to work! LOL!) I guess I could be more ladylike & ask how long it takes to go through your system? lol...
I have never heard of Stevia before, I have heard of Bentonite briefly before & I have taken psyllium before. Do I find these ingredients at a health food store?
I am more excited this time than any to do this :o) You guys are all so great & encouraging too :o)

This is a reply to # 565,904You can find the Psyllium, Stevia, Bentonite in any decent healthfood store yes. You may even be able to find Stevia in a decent grocery store.
As far as the 25 mile commute, I can relate. you'll need to be sure you do the salt water flush..plenty early. Occassionally, it takes me 1.5 hours to fully flush. But then again I'm a big guy and perhaps that matters.
As far as the Bentonite and Psyllium, I just experimented this evening and added the 1 TBSP into a 10 ouce glass. I'd say that it swells up so much that I think it would your dependability or timing your BM's, not make them less dependable.
Just remember one thing. There is an interesting nervous system signal within our bodies when we eat. It works like this, when we eat and the stomach senses that we have food. As the food passes into the duodenum (first part of the small intestines), a response urge to evacuate the rectum is sent. Causing us to visit the restroom.
So..not sure of your schedule, if you dont have enough time to take the salt flush, wait certain amount of time, take the B&P and then wait a bit before driving, I think you might be best to bring the B&P ingredients to work, add the water there, and deal with a single restroom trip once there.
Just my thoughts. And not any true experience, since I'm starting my B&P's tomorrow. Just A&P training.

As the food passes into the duodenum (first part of the small intestines), a response urge to evacuate the rectum is sent, to create space within the large intestine and allow the waste to travel. So this too, causes us to visit the restroom.

This is a reply to # 565,899I'll just chime in about sex life while fasting....and I hope others do also.
First, let me lead off with, this is from a guys perspective. I have no clue how it is for a woman. :) So, I can only offer advise/comments that are more directed towards men that will read this.
Secondly, I suppose it depends on what kind of love life you have. I've really only experienced the following two types of love play during my fasts/cleanses.
1. The Lustful, Animalistic, Fast paced, Physical release, lets do this every day oriented love life. And the...
2. Flowing, Breathing, Energetic, Communicative, Mind blowing, ::sigh:: I swear I'm satisfied until next time manifests...whenever that is...oriented love live.
During my first fast, my partner at the time looked forward to sex every day and really was only into the physical pleasure of it. I worked very hard to pleasure her but I noticed that I didn't quite have the gusto for sex everyday nor for the duration that I learned she 'expected'. Well, her reactions during my fast were a sign to me that she wasn't all that into me. Many problems in that relationship became clear during and soon after my fast. I ended that relationship within a few weeks of completing my fast.
you might be thinking..Oh crap. but wait....
During my second fast, my partner and I, we were learning and practicing Tantric Sex together. I can say without a doubt that the fast/cleanse GREATLY increased our experience and pleasure. There is very little in the abdomen, very little external pressure, belly breathing was MUCH easier, and love play and intercourse with her lasted hours without feeling tired and ranged anywhere from 1 to 10 in intensity. You just need to match how you feel with what's needed. I believe we made love three times (and not sure how many orgasms I had. At least 2 or more per time)during my 10 day fast, but the results lasted much longer then that. We would make love when it felt right for both of us and we're very satisfied. She moved away to help her family and I later moved to California.
I've fasted a number of times since then when I did not have a partner, so no input to offer during those.
During this current fast, again I'm with a wonderful partner and we are both energy workers and have studied Tantric Yoga (the practise not just the SEX), and many forms for breath work. Our time together...well, all this morning, afternoon and evening, was incredible and blissful. I even enjoyed cooking her a great lunch and dinner and had no problem preparing it nor being with her as she ate. My energy felt much cleaner, stronger and in better connection with hers. She could sense that I was more relaxed and comfortable in my body, so in turn she was able to relax more. Before hand we were talking and I spoke to her my concerns surrounding our love play during the fast...fear of lack of stamina, ability to make love more than once..etc, etc. Well after being together all day and making love a number of times she was preparing to depart. After I walked her to her car, she gave me a kiss good bye and started giggling and laughing. When I asked what was so funny she responded with a question of her own, "If THIS!! ::wide eyes and big smile:: is what happens during one, just how long do you think you can stay on this fast thingie ::wink::".
So, I think it all depends. From my experience alone, it seems that the more energetic and emotional the love life is, the better it is when the body is clean. And after the cleanse/fast when your energy levels are back up and you stay clean, it's still just as great.

Oh one more thing and this is not directed towards you or anyone in particular, it's just something I've noticed and from talking to many of my friends they feel the same. Don't be surprised that if you allow yourself to be open and receptive during this cleanse, you might find yourself releasing/reliving old emotions. Be kind to yourself and to your partner.
If you are feeling old anger, frustration, sorrow, guilt, etc etc..don't have sex until after you cleanse your body (lavender bath, Sea Salt baths, meditations, clearing, just something to clean your physical and subtle bodies) or else you may just deposit a lot of that anger (or others emotional energies) into your partner's genitals and abdomen. Then THEY have to deal with it. Actually, if you are feeling anything but Love, Gratitude and Joy, my teachers have always recommended not having sex. With a little work you can get through the other emotions and easily get the best of emotions flowing once again.
There is also the fact that love play can cause those emotions to surface as well. Sexual energy is a very powerful healer as well.

I was thinking that could happen while on the cleanse, what you had mentioned about all the old energies, anger or frustration etc...that is another reason I would like to do this cleanse; there are so many reasons. I have talked it over with my sexual partner about how I will be doing this cleanse & we will go from there. He is very supportive & thinks it is a great idea. :o)
So, I went out to the store & got mostly everything I needed, I can't find the stuff for the B&P shakes, but most of the stores are closed, so I will try again tomorrow.
I also have some bath stuff ready to use, like my essential oils, Sea Salt s etc what you mentioned, to help with relaxation and stuff....but I would also like to get into yoga & meditation more & I am hoping that by doing the cleanse, it will help me. I did pull out some books that I was working on before & just stopped. My aim is not only for a total body cleanse physically, but also on other levels as well. I do plan to be more open & receptive during this cleanse & just cleanse my whole being & bring back the me that I somehow lost over the past few years. :o)

This is a reply to # 565,923One thing I love to do is read. Would love to hear what you are reading and i'll share a couple of my favorite books, regarding yoga, meditation, and spirituality.
I think the most transformational books for me, I can't possibly rank them...
Autobiography of a Yogi. by Paramhansa Yogananda
At least for me this book had me longing for lost connections. It brought up such joy, bliss, grief, guilt, longing, feelings of togetherness as well as isolation. I had to put the book down for a month or two before continuing. Highly recomended if you are thinking about Yoga and a need to cleanse and be closer to your higher/divine sef.
There are books on Yoga postures, breathing, healing techniques, energy work, meditation, life stories of various Saints from many cultures, all of these works have made impacts on my life.
Most important is the desire to learn. My teachers have all been wonderful and what I needed.
And lastly I would recommend any of the great thelogical books. Just read them as though you were reading a story. Learn what feels right, and perhaps understand more about the world and these cultures. It's strange that most of what they say is 90%+ similiar, yet that last 10% causes such grief, pain, war, etc.
Anyway, I'm talking about the Bible..look for the 1611 Companion Bible if you dont already have one. I like the way it's put together. You would most likely need to special order if you dont go to a specialty bok store.
Bahgvat Gita - Sanskrit Verses and a wonderful series of conversations and moral stories and examples of Hindu Culture, life and spirituality. This is heavy reading, no doubt.
The Book of Mormon - Again, this book is beutiful and details a story not told in the other histories. There are some very interesting things within it. I know there is controversy in the world, but like I said, I just read them as stories and learn whatever I do from them and that feels right and true.
The Koran - Once again, I read for what I learn. I still haven't finished all of these four books, some of them I've had to learn other things to understand what was being told. In all they are incredible.
There are many other books. From Kabahla studies, to lost and ancient scrolls, to Atlantis, to Huna and Hawiian relegion to who knows what else. Something will make sense and then you'll see it repeated in other cultures, under a different name and perhaps going about it a completely different way, but it's the destination that's described the same. And I for one believe that journey is individual but the destination is Universal.

I am just getting into yoga & meditation, so, am new at those...I wrote a list this weekend of the things I want to do, learn & try & some rewards for my goal achieving etc...:o)
I too love reading & learning & well, I just haven't been doing as much of it lately as I used to (or any actually). I love learning about different cultures & spirituality etc, I am very interested in it all. That is one of my goals for this year is to get back into that......I have started where I left off before...but I will start the books & excersises from the beginning again. The good thing with knowledge & learning, is that you don't forget what you learnt,even if you choose to not remember at that time if that makes sense?
I got seperated from my exhusband just over 5 yrs ago (after a 6 month marriage but we lived together for 4 yrs prior). I found then that it gave me a push to find the me that I had lost over the past few years we had been together & other tragic events that had happened in my life...I guess I just let the negativities swallow me up & eat at me as I sunk (which I am finding is happening again if I don't make some changes). I started reading then to find a better life & the old me I knew that wanted to come back. Before my ex & I met, I used to fast all the time to cleanse my body, I ate healthy, was into herbs, I was thin, in shape, spiritually well, was totally in tune with my intuitiveness & dreams, life was grande; couldn't be better, but things took a turn, a few times over....I sank after & hit my bottom I guess you could say, it has taken me yrs to get back up to where I am now...5 yrs after my separation I am still working on it. I had a car accident a year & a half ago that set me further back, but now I am ready for the last bit I have to go & I have come a long way in the past 11 yrs...guess I just have moments where I platued for a bit there...lol.
I have a companion bible that I read through after my seperation (its made out like a book) and that gave me strength by the stories in it. Then I read a book called Women Who Love Too Much by Robin Norwood...this book was fascinating for me as it helped me so much on my journey & helped me to jump out of a viscious circle I was in over & over for years, it really helped me realize so much. After that, I read Cutting Loose; Why women who end their marriages do so well, then The Book of Life, then Chronicles of the Cross. I was confused over my failed marriage, so I read mostly all of the Mars & Venus books, even went to hear John Gray speak, then I realized I still had massive issues over a fiance that passed away when I was 19 (11 yrs ago), so I read more healing books & grief books & I put myself into therapy & counselling for 3 yrs....then I did a crystal healing, and a full cleanse like this one, and well, I was on my way again...read Conversations with God, Care of the Soul by Thomas Moore, The Celestial Phrophecy, Simple Abundance..I then moved myself & my children to a different city for a new start & we learnt to live more simple (I was pretty extravagant before)..it was great...I started to read the Seat of the Soul (almost finished it), and Life Strategies, Something more; Excavating your Authentic self, and I had just bought One Day my Soul Just Opened Up & In the Meantime by Iyanla Vanzant. I was just starting the excersises in the books & doing a daily journal when I had my car accident. I haven't really read since then. It's like I just stopped the night before the accident.....Weird hey? Anyways, I have spent the past year & a half working on trying to heal my injuries etc...getting well again..I did some acupuncture (costly), physio, even have tried crystals, gems etc, bought books on herbs & healing herbs, oh, I did buy another book, & cracked that one open today, You can Heal your Life by Louise L. Hay. Doctors tend to keep giving meds & pills & I am sick of them. I live in chronic pain now & have it daily, I can't see how 6 advil + a day is even helping, among the other stuff they give...hahaha. So, I don't want them anymore.
So, that is part of the goal for myself in this cleanse, to get me where I was heading before I had my setbacks, which are just setbacks that we learn more from, even if we can't see that....I would also like to elimate 1 & 1/2 yrs of daily meds, pain killers, sleeping pills, alcohol, nicotine, you name it, & all the junk food that I have been eating etc that all compounds to make one more unwell, that added extra fat on my body & I want my complexion back (which I know is bad from meds & too many toxins). I didn't think I could do it, but I quit smoking & Tuesday will be 3 months for me, that is the biggest accomplishment (other than coming back from my injuries of my accident as far as I have), that I know all my goals are so close within reach now...I just have been scared to go after them I guess for some reason?
My house even looks like it was turned upside down & then flopped right side up again...lol...I need to work on that & thought, well, this is all the perfect time for everything to all work together :) After the accident, I couldn't do a whole lot, so the clutter built up, the plants & flowers all died :( (had over 40), just things like that...I am ready to have the life in my house back etc. :o) I am really looking forward to tomorrow & starting this.
It is spring, just after Easter, I think the timing is good for me, it is at a time of year where I deal with emotional issues every year at this time & I am ready for some closure & ready to move on. I think it is a good time for myself to do this & my quitting smoking was the biggest challenge for myself, that I know I can do anything now within myself since that has been my biggest fear in the past 10 yrs. :o) This Oct I am turning 30, and I really want this year to be a changing year for the better for me; I feel it is my year, kinda like a new life & new me (but the real me back). I am looking very forward to my 30's & 40's & I plan to enjoy them wholeheartedly. :o)
I am sorry to have gone on so long & well, guess I went way off topic too...hahaha......
Hope you all enjoyed my little (long) story...lol...guess it is also my way to tell me & others I guess why I am doing this & starting tomorrow...for me, its kinda like the day before a trip & you are getting ready, like I know within myself I am going on a journey, it just won't be as fun as Disneyland, it will be more like a backpack trip up the mountains in the cold rain, sleet, fog & snow to achieve personal satisfaction & gratitude when you finally see the sun above the clouds as you stand at your goal mark & plant your flag. For me it is to get my body set for the real fun trip like Disneyland which will come after when I feel so great & unclogged & everyday will be more sunny cuz I will feel it inside & out & will be above those clouds! :o)

I have to say that, when you mentioned that you are going to be turning 30 in October (what day? libra or scorpio?), the astrologer in me needs to say, "you're going through your Saturn Return!!" Yes...it's major. I don't have time to tell you all about it now, but I'll post something about what you might be feeling right now (although you gave a pretty good description of it already!) on the Astrology Forum within the next few days.
Basically it is a HUGE maturing transit. It happens to everyone around the ages 28 to 30. (depending when you were born). It is usually a pretty challenging time...although I've seen it be more challenging for women. It is a time when you must discard the old in order to make room for the new. That is super brief...but I'll tell more in a few days!
That's so great that you seem to be in the coming-out-of-the-Saturn-Return Stage already! yay! Already looking forward...and creating your future. That's great.

Yes, I am turning 30 in Oct, doing that & feeling all that...I can't wait till my 33, I heard that is a great & significant year :o) I am just planning a lot of fun before that, but healthy fun & doing all the things I want & love to do too :o)
My bday is Oct. 8, so early in October, am a Libra girl all out here...and I am just like your classical Libra, 100% in all areas hahahahaa, I get told that everyday :o) (but us Libras are very cool ;o) ) LOL...I get along so swell with other Libras too it is fascinating actually :o) I am so not scared of getting older, doesn't phase me, the way I see it, the older I may appear to be agewise by the year on my card, does not symbolize what I will look or feel like & each year makes me wiser :o), for instance, look at Goldie Hawn, she does not look her age at all! *gasp*, same as Susan Sarandon, Oprah, so many more.. just goes to prove we are the very beings that have control over how we physically feel & act & look etc...my great great gran just passed away at age 97 about 2 months ago, but she was a stubborn fighter until the last month, so just how I was brought up too....:o) She also didn't have the money for tummy tucks, face lifts etc, she just beleived within herself that is how it was & passed that unto us :o) That is how I was brought up too...:o) It's all good & I do have good years coming...I know within myself so that makes it easier to believe when you just know :o)

This is a reply to # 565,899Hi KewlCat! I'll be home tomorrow, so I'll be able to give you the posts on b&p's. If I were you I'd get the plain Psyllium Whole Husk (not powder)...and the liquid Bentonite from your health food store. If your bowels are moving at least once a day then you're ready to take the b&p's, but start slowly. You can definitely fast and do the b&p's.
If you're wondering about order...the perfect order would be Master-Cleanse & b&p's (if you're into adding them, of course!) ending with a 1 to 3 day whole organic Apple Fast (to help clear more of the nicotine out the nicotine in your system) and a liver flush!
I can't remember who is going to do that combination right now - maybe they'll chime in here!

Yes,I am into adding the b&p's, I think that would be good. Tomorrow will be Day 1 on the MC, I am getting excited now actually.
Right now I am very regular with my bowel movements. I go at least 1-2 a day, sometimes more, it depends what I eat also, but I don't remember ever missing a day. So, I am just hoping that I stay as regular as I am now after the fast also.
As for the order, yes, I will do that order & I will keep you guys posted as to how it goes :o) I just hope I can stay focused at work etc while on the fast, but then lately I have felt so sluggish & tired at work, that really, I think your body gets to a point where it can only go up & get better. I think I am at that point.
It will all be good & more reading I do on here, the more excited I am getting about it all. :o)

This is a reply to # 565,899What an embarrassing question to answer, but I want to let you know something about the "sex life" question that may or may not be of relevance to anyone, but my husband reported that while I was on the cleanse, I tasted really good. This is a reply to # 565,943::smiles:: I'm glad you shared that. I'm sorry that the question made you embarrassed, it's just that you'd be surprised how many people read that and went "Really?".
And to share something else, there's alot of truth there and I think it's mostly to do with the Cayanne pepper. If you look in many herbal medical remedies for loss of vaginal fluid during menopause and some of the more obscure ones on improving one's sex life using herbs. Cayanne pepper is one of the major herbs suggested to improve the flow and amount. It's just another step in thought that if more is being produced and the mucus glans are clean and clear and running better, then taste would also improve. That side benefit is listed within a number of the books I own.

This is a reply to # 565,943hehehehe, yeah, I can see why one would be embarrassed about that...but that also was a big thing if that makes sense at all about me doing the whole cleanse...lol..my sex life is great, it is amazing actually, the best it has been in years, I am scared for it to change for the worse, and I worry very very much about "tasting" different or worse or whatever...I feel that is an honest question & well, someone's gotta bring it up???...lol..
haha, I just didn't know how to word it all...the good thing is, my sexual partner thinks it is very cool that I am doing this, he is kinda doing the same & we are on the same realm in many senses...we are a different kinda couple or "relationship" or whatever one would want to call it-we aren't a couple but we are a whatever & have been for a few years now..lol, but hey, it works for us etc right now...and he is supporting me & knows what is going on. I just didn't see much on here about the sexuality side of the cleanse as well, and well, I am sure that out of how many ppl do this cleanse? I can't be the only extrememly sexual person around....lol..I knew others were hiding out there, so I thought I would be bold & just blurt it out, lol...sex is all a part of love & life :)and nothing to be ashamed or embarassed about. Thank you for being so very honest...I feel way more confident that you are female too & your hubby felt that way :) YAY!!!!! :)
