I don’t normally do write ups or anything of that sort, but I was living with Xanthelasma around my eyelids for 2 years and It made me so self conscious and like shorebreaks I found when people talked to me they were constantly looking at my eyes.
I researched various ways to get rid of Xanthelasma which includes going to a dermatologist and having a chemical peel or having the xanthomas lasered, both treatments cost in excess of £500 and in the UK are not done on the NHS. It also worried me that many of the people who had their xanthomas removed by laser treatment found that they came back, and worse. At one point I was so desperate to get rid of them I read an article about rubbing garlic on them and smelt like a garlic bulb for a week and all it done was burn my skin but it did not affect the xanthoma.
I don’t know why I have xanthoma just that my cholesterol is ok and so is my lipids, though they did come about 2 weeks after taking medication for hyperthyroid.
I did not have £500 spare and I was desperate and I came across an article where the lady got rid of her xanthoma on her eyes by using TCA peel which is exactly what a dermatologist would use. Now was the mission to find a reputable seller of TCA peel and as it goes I bought mine from REDVENUS on ebay they had excellent customer care and answered so many emails before I actually bought the product, you can also email them at redvenus@live.co.uk
This company sells various strengths of TCA but I would like myself and shorebreaks buy 50% I bought 50% and watered it down to 25% this done nothing for me, but I would water it down for the test patch.
I applied 50% onto my xanthoma with a cotton bud and yes it does sting and hurt it feels like you have scalded yourself (you have to be very careful as remember you are dealing with an acid so be very careful not to get any into your eyes). The area around the xanthoma then turned white. I left this on all day then at night washed my face and a white residue was still there. The next morning my eyes were all puffed up and the skin around the xanthoma had turned brown and I felt it had not worked. I emailed redvenus about the product not working at 50% and should I use 100% they were against this. The next day I woke up to my xanthoma and the area around the xanthoma scabbed over (and it looked like two moths on my eyes) every morning and evening I would rub BIO OIL (which you can buy at any chemist and supermarket)on them, it has been 2 weeks now and the scab has fallen off, the discolouration is gone and the xanthoma has gone too, I have slight marks where the scab was and a little dot of a xanthoma (hardly noticeable) so when it has totally healed I will be doing it again to completely make it gone. my xanthoma was not raised it was quite deep into the skin, this is why I am writing this article because it is possible on limited funds to rid yourself of them at home if you take due care.
You can email me cosmicr4yz@talktalk.net if you are not sure about anything or want to know more, but rest assured I had my doubts and qualms about doing at home as your messing with skin in the area around the eye, but I am so glad I did it and took the chance as now I can walk out with confidence that people are talking to me and not two cream coloured marks on my eyelids.

I have since have the xanthalomas return, though not as bad as they were, and they can still be hidden by makeup. I am now still applying the tca as it is the only thing that reduces the xanthoma and also fades it.
I am now trying to reasearch more methods so if anyone has any ideas could they please contact me using the above email.
thank you
