'My insomnia relief', comprehensive post about what I've learned over the past two years. I've suffered chronic insomnia yearly since I was 15.
You may be lacking what you need for digesting protiens for converting tryptophan to seretonin, and then to melatonin in the evening. Look at digestive protiens, and then focus your meat meals in the evening.
Also, keep your magnesium and potassium levels high with dark green veg! Magnesium was a big kicker for getting rid of insomnia for me.
Consider a non-chemically-treated
Bentonite cat litter bath if you have a bathtub, to pull toxins from the skin. Put a pound or so of
Bentonite cat litter in an old pillowcase, and knead it with your feet in the bath until you get a nice muddy swirl of it, and top up your water every two hours. If you are lucky enough to get calcium bentonite, you'll start off laughing 30 minutes into the bath, and then feel as dry as a bone at the two hour mark. Shower the dust off, and then follow the soak up with:
A soup made of chopped spinach, food oil, a little cayenne, some onions and garlic powder or fresh, minced garlic and
Sea Salt . Flavor it as you like, but avoid sugar! Get some fresh-squeezed lemon, orange, lime or grapefruit juice into your system, the vitamin C complex is very important for good brain function. Two ripe kiwis will match your vitamin C needs for the day perfectly.
Read the thread I linked to. It really helps when you know what is likely causing the insomnia, and how to address it. Like the other posters have written, detox is an important followup.
