It has to be wrong because there's no way 1 person knows the cure for everyone. We are all so different, coming from bloodlines all across the globe.
*cough* PENICILLIN *cough*
Penicillin was, for a time, the only cure. Diseases, unless they're resistant, typically have one cure. Heck, if someone has a yeast infection, they are prescribed diflucan. A little tip someone once told me: We're not as different as we seem to think we are.
He meant intellectually. Physically, however, we all have livers, that can be taxed by low carb, diflucan, and candida. (In fact, the pickling of the liver is pretty common.)
Anyway, the whole low carbing thing is a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' scenario. The ideal would be a
Sugar that give the candida less energy than it takes for the candida to process it. (Likely an alcohol
Sugar similar to xylitol but with an actual glucose molecule in it.)

Low decay rates persist even years after the trials have been completed. In addition to starving harmful bacteria of their food source, use of xylitol raises the pH of saliva in the mouth.
Has anyone tried 6 months of Xylitol?
We're all looking for a cure. To play on what you said, 'We ain't nazi's either, so chill'.
He's just saying that low-carbing killed his liver. And that's entirely possible. It's also likely he took diflucan, or that the Candida die off 'pickled' his liver, or that the combination of low carbing for 2 years AND candida killed his liver. Really, the candida diet (any of them) may not be a safe 'long term' solution.
Protein shakes are typically LOADED with carbs that feed the candida. Not only that but WHEY PROTEIN SPECIFICALLY is harder on the liver. Combined with doing that for years and he's done a number on his liver... then add in Candida and continued low carbing. (Especially if he was still eating the high carb high protein shakes and suddenly quit feeding the candida getting a massive die off reaction... combined with going high protein).
Additionally, if your liver is screw'd up, a liver easy diet may require carbs (in the forms he's getting it). Considering this, he may actually benefit from a diet that would make things harder than the rest of us because our liver enzymes are good. (I assume... and hope)
Also, I have heard that eating carbs (the guy used beer and something else) can TEMPORARILY make you feel better... for about a month... then it makes you feel like crap. Let's find out how he does after a few months.
Coconut oil and Garlic are potent antifungals, and I can attest from having garlic leak from my pores and smelling like garlic for a while, that it is strong. The question is not do Coconut Oil, Garlic, etc... work. (I put some directly on an infection I got on my lip while I have thrush in my mouth and had it vanish in two days), the question is WHERE IS IT EFFECTIVE AND WILL IT HELP REBALANCE FLOURA... OR DOES IT KILL THE GOOD BACTERIA TOO? Can we recover with Garlic... what forms a permanent cure?
The thing is, fruit is not necessary in the human diet. You can actually make pine needle tea (do not try at home) or eat broccoli and get all the vitamin C you need, and depending on the fruit little else. In your case, you are getting electrolytes, vitamin C, water, and carbs from the watermelon. Whether or not the carbs are helping you the electrolytes, and vitamin C likely are, and the carbs are supporting your liver which is currently DOA, so it makes sense that you (with your severe liver damage) would feel at least temporarily better on this diet.
As for the vegetarian part, well... there was a nice girl who mentioned eating some hummus, a carrot, and admittedly a cracker and felt terrible. I'd be willing to bet that even without the cracker she would still feel terrible.
Anyway, tomorrow I have access to sauerkraut, and already this week I put into myself a lactobacillus that's every bit as tough as candida (if only it could colonize XD).
Honestly, I'm trying to figure out how to support the liver and get calories without 'pickling' it with 120 grams of protein and fat a day. XD It looks like I might be able to regulate ketosis by regulating my fat intake... this would be so much easier if there were ONE type of
Sugar CANDIDA COULDN'T EAT!!!!! XD
And right now, it sounds like (for you) your liver needs more working on than the Candida. Though, should the situation reverse it's self you may find yourself in worse shape. Please keep us updated on your progress.
And remember, there are many people here who have been fighting Candida for longer than you.
As for the 'sick leading the sick' comment, I will admit, this is likely a better forum for a remedy than a cure... but remedyzone doesn't sound as inticing. (Though, were it bacterial, a cure would be a lot easier).
