As Chris mentioned, fasting is indeed the best method to detoxify the body. As to getting weight under control, fasting really is only supplemental to the more essential element which is healthy diet and exercise as the best fat loss combination. Fasting often can re-establish our desires for healthy foods, enabling us to more successfully embark upon a nutritious lifestyle.

Chris covered your false point which equates fasting to starving. As to the next point, why do you believe that fasting and eating junk food afterwards go hand in hand? They do not and this unhealthy path is certainly not what is taught here. Fasting followed by extremely nutritious eating is. Have you actually read through this forum at all?

Fasting is a rest from the strain. I would say it is more like encountering a great blessing with amazing benefits that continue to grow with nutritious eating and exercise to follow.

Let's see your post where you asked about this. I am amazed because the recommendation of distilled water especially while fasting is widespread throughout this forum.

The link Chris provided explains this better than anything i have ever seen on the subject. Inorganic (unassimilable) minerals in water are worse than worthless... they are harmful.

How are you to know who is in need of a water fast? And does it really have to be only one or the other? I strongly believe that the two work best in tandem. A periodic fast cleanses and heals in a way that can never occur while eating and helps the body to better assimilate nutrients ... and nutritious eating benefits us greatly for all of the weeks or months in between.
