Day 19
Gardens and Scales
Date: 6/1/2007 7:51:14 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 3382 times Hello to All.
What a terrific morning. Cool outside still and the garden greens are coming up like you wouldn't believe. Mustard greens, Collard greens, and Beet tops. They are delicious steamed in spring water with some Braggs on them. But I have been so good and only drank the water, saving the greens for someone else. I hope this fast ends before all the tender leaves are gone. Also the wax beans and green beans are coming on. The purple onions are lovely. Oh yes, I could go down to the garden and completely gorge myself-thankfully I have to work at the computer today and won't be tempted.
I am quite disappointed with the scale. I continue to hover around 185 and 186. It has been sitting on those numbers all week. My body has adapted to juice, broth, and water and now seems happy to stay. Oh man is it disappointing. I had grand numbers in my head what 30 days would do for me. Now I'll be lucky to reach 25 pounds lost, if that. AusJulie and KatieMarie have struggled/are struggling with that too and if it weren't for them I would consider myself a lost cause and a strange mutant. Maybe I'll cut the juices today. Drink only half of my normal and try to stick with the h20.
Exercise is going as usual. I did 45 minutes of cardio last night instead of 35 and could have done an hour. Then I worked with weights. I felt positively rejuvenated. It was awesome. I'm looking forward to tonight and plan to skip weights tonight and try to speed walk these stubborn pounds off. I do occasionally get dizzy, but I am quick to slow the pace and grab a handrail. It always passes.
I've been cooking glorious vegan meals during this whole fast. My family is appreciative and I love to see them eat healthy and hearty foods. My oatmeal tofu waffles were gone in about 4 days. You should have seen how many I made. The blueberry and peach topping turned out perfect and you've never seen kids eat like mine. You really can give kids good choices with vegan foods and they don't mind at all. Okay-enough for now. Love to all my friends out there and peace to everyone.
