Day 12 juice fast. Beginning this blog.

I've really enjoyed some of the blogs on fasting! I am currently on a juice only fast. I started May 14. My fast started as a water only fast but I only achieved three days. On May 17, I woke up very hungry and ready to quit. So in a last ditch effort to regain control I juiced some grapefruits. AHH! What a difference that made. The day went by easily and I regained my mental composure. So you can call me weak in that respect. I really admire the water only fasts, but will have to try for that another time. Since the 17th I have only juiced twice a day. Once in the morning and once around 4pm, before heading to the gym. My morning juice is either grapefruit only or grapefruit and orange mixed. (Strangely, I crave fresh grapefruit juice.) With the afternoon drink I mix carrots, beets, apples, celery, and cucumber. Not my favorite drink, but it energizes. I drink spring water all day long. I work out almost everyday on the treadmill and with weights. My goal for this fast is weight loss, self-control, and help with reoccuring colds and flu's. I am 5'11 and my start weight was 203. That number completely floors me since I delivered both of my children full term at 185. I've been watching the weight creep up for the last few years and besides one serious diet, have allowed it to happen. I weighed 190 this morning. A 13 pound loss so far. Today was very hard for me. Mostly mental. I came to the curezone to do my usual browse and found the blogs. What a blessing! So tonight I blog to keep my sanity. Tommorow. Who knows? Stay strong. (I whisper that last phrase to myself.)
