Day 4
Good news and Bad News
Date: 3/24/2006 8:07:51 AM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1973 times Today I woke up feeling tired and my lower back hurt. Kidney detoxing? I'm not sure. It seemed more muscle related from my Gym workout on Tuesday. However, I took 10 capsules of BF&C, and by mid morning I was feeling quite better.
What a beautiful day it was here NH. It was nearly 50 degrees and sunny. I took a long break from my computer work, made some Red Raspberry tea, and sat on my front porch and soaked up nearly 30 minutes of solars! I love letting the rays into my eyes. I'm hoping it will burn the floaters out!
After breaking, I went back to work until Noon. At Noon, I had my normal half pint influx of OJ, and then hit the back deck for some golf swings. Being such a nice day I thought, why not hit a real range later during my afternoon errands? I was taking the rest of the day off to work on my living room anyway, so I can squeak in some real golf!
But 1st, I headed to the supermarket to pick up some more organic oranges and buy my wife some of this special cereal she likes. Boy, orange season seems to be running out fast! I can hardly find anything decent anymore. I started thinking I should have stocked up when I had the chance. Everything is old, soft, and sparse. Oh well I picked the best I could find, and I also picked up a bottle of fresh pressed carrot juice for a snack.
Before heading home I stopped at video store for a Friday night movie, and then I hit golf balls as planned. At the range I drank my carrot juice and got humbled! I slithered and slapped 9-irons in the breeze with the off-center hits rattling my bones!! It was a good reality check. Boy, does my golf game need a lot work! At least I can blame it on the long winters.
The rest of the day I spent working on my living room. I finally completed my floor prep, laid my tar paper, and got the initial cuts for the 1st row. I also worked on a festering drywall imperfection. I made it worse. Seems like the more you work something, the worse it looks, so I need to get drastic tomorrow and perhaps cut a square piece and replace it.
When my wife got home from work, we went to the Gym. I've been staying away from running because I feel it depletes me too much (electrolytes and fat loss), so I stuck with weight machines while she did treadmills. She and I have both started to get concerned about the weight loss. I'm already a light weight and I've lost 7 more pounds. My wife thinks I'm the male version of Alley McBeal (aka "Walking X-ray"). So, I need to figure out a way to bulk up on my plant fats. Since I only have Olive Oil, I decided to go home and drink a concoction of 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil, a teaspoon of Garlic Powder, half pint of Vegetable juice, and a pinch of Cayenne. I drank that down and it was pretty good. Still, that Olive Oil after-taste makes me shiver as it reminds me of those dreaded liver flushes. Bleck!
It occurred to me today that one of the keys to successful fasting is KEEPING BUSY. So far this day, I have felt the BEST I've felt overall. That was the good news indicated in this log abstract. The bad news is I will probably be cutting this fast short by 1 week unfortunately.
I had to reorganize our vacation time due to conflicts and I can't be fasting on the road visiting with relatives, so I will be completing my 1 week mark, and then slowly come off the fast. However, one of the interesting things about Dr. Hay's book is that he calls "partial fasting" just as effective in many cases. By partial fasting he refers to eating only fruits, juices, and fresh salads. So I'm thinking I may continue my 2nd week that way. The Blog will stop at the end of week 1 but I will update any physical experiences/changes after I get back.
Come this summer I will attempt another fast to achieve the 14 day goal, or maybe even longer. Who knows? See you all tomorrow and thanks for reading!
Best,PB
