I Broke My Fast For a Salad
Well, I said I would try and go past 10 days and I did, I went to 13. Do you feel better? That's the true test.

Well, I said I would try and go past 10 days and I did, I went to 13, then I broke down and had a salad. I know it's an odd choice, not a cookie or something else more tempting, but a salad. Prior to that I had been drinking the fresh OJ so I do not feel like I made a mistake per se by not having the vegetable soup. however, I do advocate following the book which is what I have done in the past. In any case, I have been going to the bathroom regularly since breaking my fast. That was always a concern of mine but it seems my Colon has reacted well. I have been eating a lot of yogurt and fruit and salads. The thing about the summer is that it makes coming off a fast a little easier. Possibly because it's just so hot and muggy no one wants to eat a lot. We also have an overabundance of fresh juice places in NYC so it's easy to give up something bad and replace it with something healthy. Now for the big question...weight loss. I did the MC for my health not so much for weight loss. If you look at BMI I am within range. Of course some would say I could loose a few and I would not disagree. So yes, I lost about 8 pounds maybe 10. But, this should not be a bookmark for anyone else. Each persons progression and weight loss is different depending on body size and composition. Do you feel better? That's the true test.
