Date: 2/14/2006 12:43:47 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 3160 times This is my first Master Cleanse blog, but my third MC. I was able to complete my first 10-day MC over July 4th weekend, with lots of help from members of CureZone.
Day One was Sunday 2/12. It started out like any other Sunday, I woke up late after going out on Saturday night and telling anyone who would listen that I was about to start my "fast." Much to my surprise, Andre, a friend I see occasionally tells me he also does the MC. He started a few years ago after a prostate problem. It's so nice to meet a member of the club. Anyway, Sunday was a breeze. I drank my MC all day and watched Desperate Housewives at night.
Monday morning I had to get up and shovel my car out from under the 18 inches of snow we got in NY. I took a bottle of MC with me, but tired easily and it was only Day 2. Not a good sign. Even more of a challenge was Monday's cocktail party for Patrick McMullen's new book "Kiss, Kiss" at the DKNY store. Donna Karan is in my Yoga class and I know she is very health conscious. But the food at her parties caters to the masses. That meant coconut dipped jumbo fried shrimp, Asian spring rolls and all kinds of other treats being passed around the party. To make matters worse, two separate groups of friends invited me to dinner. "Why don't you just come and sit with us? I guess because I don't believe in torture." Lucky for me I learned to always carry my MC drink with me. It is like a security blanket, every time the urge to break my fast came along I would swig a sip of my drink.
