A choice to fast
My reason to start a water fast
Date: 1/10/2015 10:55:29 AM ( 9 y ) ... viewed 983 times After putting off the call to fast until after the holidays, I began January 2nd on what I plan as a 40 day water fast primarily for spiritual reasons. I've fasted in the past 12 years 28, 21, 14 and 10 days. Based on the saying, any fool can fast yet it takes a wise person to break the fast, then I admit that I've been an idiot in the past.
For the past decade, I've been drifting spiritually and unfocused mentally, allowing my physical senses to dominate. As a result I allow petty external/environmental cues to dominate my life and end up making poor choices that negatively impact my health and fitness.
As stated, I've fasted in the past yet only the spiritual led fasting attempts made it past the initial cravings and environmental circumstances. Yet sometime within the fasting experience I become more focused (obsessed) on the weight loss than the spiritual reason for the fast. Ironically, I'm going to try to blog my experience on this site rather than a spiritual oriented site. It works for me to be meet obstacles head on
