Day Thirteen
A personal journey to health and freedom through water fasting

Hit another bout of core temperature drop today. Spent the morning wrapped in a blanket sipping hot tea. Didn't seem to help much and I was not getting alot accomplished. I decided to tackle this healing crises head on. That is, I headed out...side.
My garden has been sadly neglected these past 13 days. I have 8 varieties of tomatoes planted, 2 cukes, yellow squash, zuccini, and carrots. (And one blackberry bush that survived the transplant). Unfortunately, I have not tended my little babies like I should, and they are showing it. So I threw off my blanket, put on my sandals, and went to work ... feeling seriously under the weather. I staked and tied up my tomato plants and turned up the soil around all of my little plants. (Later on today, when the afternoon heat cools down, I will fertilize them too.) But simply working out in the sun, and most importantly, getting my mind off of the fact that I was cold and miserable, turned around my symptoms. I feel just fine now, 6 hours later. Even spending an hour upside down with my fanny in the air was not enough to upset my stomach--which it usually does with acid-reflux type pain.
I noticed something interesting today that I had read about in some article. It said that your hair will stop growing during a fast. Not falling out, but just stop its usual output until after the fast is over. It also said that afterward, your hair will be much better--stronger and healthier, and some have even reversed graying hair back to original color. Today I suddenly noticed that even though its been 3-4 weeks since I last colored my hair, and that I should have at least a 1/2 inch of "roots" showing, that I have nothing. My hair looks just as if I had just colored it! And I am not losing any more hair than normal. Of course, that's normally a prodigious amount. I have very long, very thick hair (I sort of look like an Irish Setter--but I smell better...usually). I can't wait to find out if the part about hair regaining its natural color is true. I would love to get free of my addiction to the "bottle".
My cat had a sudden and inexplicable schizophrenic episode this morning and gave me 4 deep scratches/puncture wounds on my hands. (I have started to look for a good animal psychiatrist. Suggestions are welcome). Anyway, I am interested to see how long these will take to heal. I am normally a slow healer. Will keep you posted.
Finally, if I ever drink Dandelion Root Tea again on an empty stomach, I too, should have my head examined. Last night, I gave myself the worst case of stomach acid burn I have ever experienced! I couldn't drink enough water to make the pain go away...was up for hours because of the pain. And so much water woke me up in the middle of the night for a potty run and up early this morning. It also gave me diarrhea (WHO needs a salt water flush, enema or colonic!!)
It just tastes so good... sigh...
More later...
