Day 9 - 136lbs (20lbs to go)
1/2 stone lost - but felt awful this morning...
Date: 11/13/2008 2:15:24 PM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 2511 times Last night I started oil pulling. I used black seed oil as it is renowned for its healing properties. I did it for 20 minutes and the first thing I noticed when cleaning out my mouth was that the hot water tasted like it had sugar in it - it was so sweet!
Anyway, this was my first time OP and this might have been the reason that I felt so uncomfortable at night (for the first time since juice fasting) and woke up to feel extremely nauseous. I didn't want to miss work but then couldn't stop myself from gagging. After much deliberation I went to the bathroom and choked up what looked like last night's indulgence in a cartoned grapefruit juice. I was sick twice. This could be for any of the following reasons:
1. Oil Pulling for the first time - it brings out toxins so that could be what it was;
2. Indulgence in not-freshly-juiced-but-cartoned grapefruit juice;
3. Not drinking enough juice (hence me resorting to grapefruit juice from a carton)
4. Sleeping very late - 1am
5. Or that the juice fast has brought out the toxins
I managed to get to work later in the afternoon after a nap which made me feel much better. I had a headache though. Made me wonder if it was the oil pulling doing this (as the symptoms apparently worsen before they get better) or a delayed reaction to the juice fast (as I didn't experience any of this when I started 8 days ago).
Anyhow, I came home and weighed myself. I am now 9st 10.2lbs (136.2lbs) so a loss of half a stone (7lbs) since starting. I lost 1lb since last night, maybe because I threw up half a pounds worth this morning.
I am however craving food now. It is getting to me slightly. I tried to talk myself out of having some sort of soup or yoghurt, but I thought I have done very well so I deserve a tiny bit of a treat. Therefore I had a 125g pot of yoghurt - organic and probiotic. I needed something as I was starting to lick the honey jar for something sweet!
I am still on track for losing a pound-or-so a day (except weekends) and it's Day 10 tomorrow (wow, I've done quite well), so let me see how long I can keep this going. Would be good if I lasted until the end of next week (up to Day 17) as my boss is here to keep me busy and I can be distracted with that.
Will see if the yoghurt affects my weight tomorrow. Have not done any oil pulling tonight in case I missed work tomorrow as well. If I am sick again I will know it is not a result of that.
