Broke my last fast on day 5 due to a social event. Starting over.
It took me a couple of days to get started again, the first few days really are the hardest for me.
When I was on day 5 on my last fast I wasn’t even hungry at all and it seem to be getting easier in that sense but broke it because of a social event.
I am so disappointed I did that, it was so hard to get to day 5 and into ketosis. I could of easily kept going.
A long fast would be perfect for me right now, and would give me such a fresh start once I am done.
If I could do 40-50 days, I would be around my ideal weight and can start eating right and toning up. It would be a perfect way ... read more

Not much cravings. Seems I am starting to get into ketosis, my tongue is getting white. Energy normal.
It feels like I have some puffiness under my chin, it’s not bad and probably not noticeable to anyone but me...but why, what is it? visit the page

My face look clearer and better. Energy normal but had a couple of moments where I felt fatigue. Not in ketosis yet, I have ketone test strips. Once you are in ketosis you burn mostly fat and less muscle. visit the page
Not fasting for weight loss anymore... 12 y
...doing low fat mostly raw vegan and exercise.
I already lost like 70 lbs crash dieting and notice I am starting to develop some saggy skin, it’s not bad now, but I need to lose around 60 more lbs, so it might be bad then.
I notice when I pinch the sagging skin on my arm, my arm is really quite thin, and doesn’t seem to have much muscle mass.
So I don’t think fasting would be good yet. I think, I need to eat well in a way that will let me lose weight and build muscle. And I think a low fat mostly raw vegan diet with exercise would be it.

Doing a true Water Fast 12 y
Well, I gave it some thought. If I water fast, I might as well do it right.
I will just be drinking nothing but water, and deal with the discomfort and withdrawals both psychological and physical.
I wanted to do a long WF for a while, so I will just do it right and get it over with and stop fooling around.
I will lose most of the weight I need to if I go around 30-40 days, and can lose the rest by following a low fat vegan/raw diet and exercising.
It will be interesting to see the results and more rewarding if I just do it right.

I had some diet coke and seltzers. It’s not going to be a pure saintly water fast the first few days, I will get more serious later, when I am deeper into fasting, right now, I am just trying to get through the first few days and enter ketosis. I have a screwed up habit of not drinking water but other crap, like lots of people out there. So bare with me. I will become a water person by the end of this.
Not much cravings, almost gave into to eating, but stuck through it.

The fasting for weight loss forum seems pretty darn dead.
So, I will do updates on my fasting ventures here, maybe there too.
I don’t see anything wrong with fasting for weight loss, from what I’ve read once you get past the 3 days and enter ketosis, you enter the ”protein sparing phase” and burn mostly fat. I am hoping it will also reduce the appearance of stretch marks and other unsightly stuff.
Plan to do one long fast, the longer I can go the better. Like a 40 day fast. Then eat maybe raw for a month, do another long fast to fine tune things. But that is way in the future, this ... read more
