Shelton also stressed the importance of fasting as only PART of a system of achieving good health.
He also stressed the vital importance of the natural agencies of sunlight; sleep and rest (physical and physiological); exercise; fresh air; cleanliness; and pure water in the right proportions as the body could utilize to aid the body.
Shelton also authored a now-rare book, which summarized the teachings of the early pioneers in health-reform, entitled: Human Life: its Philosophy & Laws; a veritable masterpiece of health and achieving good health.
To quote Robert Walter MD (1841-1921)
"Disease is a natural process of purification, and should not be stopped, but aided. It's remedies are Natures health
preservatives . Obedience to Nature is it's greatest panacea. Air, Light, food, water, exercise, rest (physical and physiological), sleep, etc, in such manner and degree as Nature can use are its curatives.
Remove the CAUSE, and the effect will cease."
