Thanks Chris I'll definately give this a read. Maybe save it for one of the difficult days. :)
Unfortunately my favourite book on the subject was a local one now well out of print. It was by a medical doctor in a country town in Victoria Australia at the turn of the century. He 'discovered' the value of fasting and rejected modern medicine, treating all his patients from then on with fasting only. I have read several others, however it's not that popular a genre and new stuff is always welcome. :)
Just to be clear I would far prefer to be doing supervised fasts, even better would be to fast at a retreat with no distractions, not having to make 3 meals a day for my kids etc etc. In fact I would probably do more dry fasting, but it's true that it is far more challenging than Water Fasting and I wouldn't want to put my kids through that again anytime soon. :)
