Re: Help!

I used to have the very same symptoms. What I've had to do for my Self is to change my ENTIRE dietary intake. It finally culminated with an episode that sent me to the ER in the belief that I was suffering a heart attack. It turned out to be acid reflux - go figure.

Things that I've had to change are:
+gluten-free foods (make my own breads/pizza crusts/etc.)
+wheat-free foods (using rice, potato, bulgar, amaranth, flours, etc.)
+NO SODAS, diet or otherwise - sodas are just that: SODIUM + Sugar (diet soda = poison)
+reduction/elimination of processed meats (game, organic meats, wild-caught fish, etc., only)
+dramatic increase in vegetables & fruits
+NO FAST FOOD, WHATSOEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER...did I mention, "EVER?"
+eliminated fried foods
+eliminate cow's milk
+elimination of processed foods (prepared foods in freezer, frozen pizza, etc.)
+elimination of flouridated toothpastes and oral preparations

Let me make this perfectly clear: I really enjoyed fast foods, red meats, and prepared foods. I've had to do this over a period of time, but the more that I learned about processed foods and the corporate agriculture industry, the more it encouraged me to make better choices in my food sources. I have enjoyed a MUCH healthier gut since I've made these changes, though it sure would be easy to revert back to the convenient, cheap food sources if I allowed myself to!

Local farmers' markets should offer tons of in-season fruits and veges that you can easily purchase in bulk and freeze or can, accordingly, for use during the winter months. Brown rice, sweet potatoes, and other sources of carbs are much healthier than processed breads, pop-tarts, cereals, etc. Read the labels on 5 different containers of processed foods that you have in your pantry. If some of the ingredients are impossible to pronounce and/or are things that you've never heard of, chances are that they are very, very bad for your system as well as those of your children.

Best wishes to you!
