Re: Mobbing
RE: Wombat
I saw it and it was more like a swarming. I've been there a few times and there is not much you can do other than move on.
GRZ and I have agreed as often as disagreed, he is one of the few people who can counter your argument without turning it into a personal attack. It's a shame that he was banned, join the club we are waiving the membership fees. That being said, if he showed similar courage in the ML forum he would also be banned from there.
The problem is that the moderator should not be a mindless ally to the owner but a foil, a person who challenges the owner to grow, learn, to prove their point rather than just reiterate it. The idea of "support" also needs to be re-evaluated, support is not the automatic head nodding approval that many in the support forums seem to think. It is something more complex and subtle.
It is by being challenged that we grow and improve. We should welcome when people ask probing questions and question ideas. When banning occurs, the owners get lazy and repeat the same ideas, time after time, safe in the knowledge that anyone who questions can be banned and their questions erased from history.
