Re: Here is the deal.....

Iodine may be important to some people... no question about that. I agree that the literature of the doctors oft quoted on the forum, appears and sounds more than promising. I have also high dosed Lugol's and iodoral for quite a long time after reading and studying this. I realized the greater importance of Iodine several years ago and was a daily consumer of not only Iodine rich foods, but relatively low dose Iodine supplements as well. I also did Cayce iodine protocols back in the 70's. In my eyes this forum is a johnny come lately. I am not an iodine neophyte and I do understand its importance... as much or more than anyone in the forum including V.

There are several things that we do not know though. There may be several, very important reasons why Dr. Jarvis and the Cayce reading suggest low dosing over longer periods of time. Perhaps it relates with the halide imbalance discussed in the Iodine Forum ; in depth at one time.

For instance long term high (higher than body requires) dosage use and the repercussions. There may be none. However, iodine pioneers that decide more is better may find out it wasn't.

It is usually well after the introduction of a new pharmaceutical drug and large scale use (side effects and harm are grossly under reported) that we find out these drugs are harmful to some/all with long term and/or high dose usage.

High dosing affected me negatively after about the third month, I became all too aware of it and backed off. How do I know? I cycled lower dosing and higher dosing for well over a month and felt MUCH better lowering doses than I did on the higher doses. I have been maintaining a single drop five days a week and even with this, seemingly low dose, with the addition of my sea vegetable consumption feels border line too much. Why? Because when I recently stopped for a week, I began to feel better. I am very in tune with my body and sense changes in it that others would not be able to due to several years of cleansing and re-mineralizing.

Perhaps we will find out in the not too distant future if long term high dosing has any adverse effects. Sometimes, as in allopathic medicine, when a patient complains of a drug side effect the doctors brush it off and tell the patient it is all in their heads... what happens down the road? You should know...

It is somewhat well known that excessive use of anti-oxidants can cause fatugue like symptoms. Come on people, think.

When the forum started one of the issues discussed was a halide "imbalance" which was discussed in the 1950's by Dr. Jarvis. Note the term "imbalance". If one doses iodine for long term, I believe that an imbalance can and does occur swinging the balance to too much iodine, which can cause the same or similar symptoms than too much of one of the other halides.

Why do foods contain bromide, fluoride, and chloride if they are not needed by the body? The fact that some foods may have these halides in greater quantity than what would seem normal has nothing to do with the food, and I suspect it has more to do with mans polluting ways. Halide imbalance, yes, correcting it yes, but come on... common sense dictates moderation.

The "petty squabbles" you speak of have nothing to do with personalities... it has to do with the way people are treated in the forum. Treating people inappropriately and making a very public "show" of it is NOT petty. I could care less about myself and how people treat me, or in front of whom. It always shows each individual for who and what they are. Some will side with either person based on their own personalities showing everyone WHO they are.

I can choose to stay away from those that may treat me unfairly or are toxic to my being. I am not the only one who has become aware of this unjust treatment of others occurring repeatedly. If you chose to ignore and or allow this behavior towards others, due to your willingness to forgive transgressions given the value of the forum so be it. That is not unlike our present society that seems to permit the rich, powerful, and famous to be far above the law. The more someone in position sees what they can get away with, the more they push it. Not unlike the child that pushes their parents to test limits. V is a perfect example of that.

I am hoping that some people will begin to think and research, but more importantly pay attention to their bodies and get and stay healthy... not do more harm than good.
