i see no need for that

you should be able to buy I2 and KI and get distilled water and make your own lugols. russians arent stupid. the best quality KI is made in germany anyway. you should be able to fix yourself up with a gallon of Lugols for the equivalent in rubles of probably $10. for every liter of solution, there is 50gm of I2, 100gm KI and 850ml of h2o.

miz the KI in a small amount of the water, enough to dissolve it all. it will turn ice cold. then mix the I2 into the solution. at this concentration, the I2 will dissolve almost immediately. once everything is in a liquid state, add more distilled h2o to the solution until a volume of 1 liter is attained. there you have it. Lugols striong Iodine solution. the quality of the Lugols you make is equal to the lesser quality of the two forms of iodine. use usp or greater KI. reagent grade is fine. stay away from lab grade.
