Wanton credulity is not the sign of an open mind , it is the mark of a gullible one.  Being a sucker for every sham idea  is not a virtue and not something you should be proud of.  

The close mind is yours and those who think like you.  Our brains are capable of providing experiences which often seem real from false memories, feeling of flight, strong emotions, even whole delusional worlds. Most of the time people are able to distinguish them from objective reality.  Our minds often play these tricks on us.   It is infinitely more likely that this person has one such experience, but in this case they were not able to tell it apart from reality.   "Feeling" something does not make it true.

It is the closed mind that dismisses this far more likely explanation for one that involves magic.
