Thanks, Sophie!
I just had to thank you so much for this article, and for your posts. This is the first article I've read that has confirmed what I've been feeling for so long. I tried the "candida diet" for only a short time. I was so hungry I couldn't stand it. I am pretty thin and I knew it wasn't healthy for me to be losing weight. I've since switched to a healthy balanced diet (for the past 3 yrs) but honestly I still feel guilty every time I eat any kind of carb or sugar! Ugh! I've been feeling for the longest time like I'm still sick b/c I can't commit to a strict diet. I eat healthier than anyone I know, but I constantly wonder if I'd be better by now if I'd just knuckled down and did the diet.
I came to CZ for help a few weeks ago. I became so overwhelmed and depressed reading all the posts there. I literally cried for 2 days! I thought it would help to make sense of things if I posted what I was doing to get better so I could get some feedback. I felt so much worse after reading the responses. It just confirmed to me that what I was doing wasn't good enough.
Since I began researching this stuff 4 yrs ago I've felt like I need to just eat foods that are natural and good for me, and this article confirmed that for me. It lays out so well the need for a balanced diet. I think maybe I can finally shake the guilt for good! From what I learned there, I think I need to increase my intake of inulin and increase probiotics in the form of yogurt rather than capsules (or take them together). I'm also looking into the Lauricidin they link to on the site. Have you ever tried it?
I have only been on this
Iodine Board for 2 days, but I'm learning a lot. I had no idea
Iodine was so important. And I can't believe that in 4 yrs of researching candida I've never come across a connection between
Iodine and fungal infections! So how did you decide what kind of iodine and how much to use? How quickly did you see results?
Well, thanks again for your posts!
Blessings,
txsunshine
