Re: On “Protein or "Funny Protein"(NPN)--Killing "US"”
C - "I have no problem with you (or me) calling it intentional contamination. Illegal contamination? Criminal contamination? Choose the modifier you like."
I do not either... in fact I like the term with a modifier better.
Interesting thought on H-C=O; I will look into it more.
"They deserve better than the “NPN is bad” mantra that ML pushes and you now endorse."
I may have come off that way and you are right.
I do not think I have stated that ALL NPN is bad. There seems to be a certain amount of naturally occurring NPN in all living things. What I am trying to state, and perhaps I have been remiss in the emphasis, is that NPN in foreign/manmade/waste substances intended for consumption are bad, and that an elevated NPN due to nitrogen fertilizers, ripening processes, what have you is not beneficial and in a high accumulation over time, as would occur in a typical diet with poor quality foods would also be bad.
C - "Another absurd generalization would be to say that because many snake poisons are a collection of enzymes, enzymes are bad – hell you could even generalized it even further and say that proteins are dangerous because enzymes are proteins. Generalizations are usually bad (maybe even this one)"
Read the above paragraph, point taken. I hope my explanation here clarifies.
