Of course there are cases where parents' bad habits are passed on to the child, this is not in doubt. So we must lead by example. No one is disputing this. But is this true for EVERY case, in every situation? It doesn't justify ML's painting everything with such a wide brush, nor his bashing people for things they have no control over. It's great that the drink (and other suggestions) work for you as they have for others, but as has been pointed out it doesn't work equally well for everyone.

It's really stretching to try to pigeon-hole some of ML's ideas with "well, he *could* have meant this..." You're a little overzealous in defending absolutely everything he says.
