Re: Mild Dysplasia/ HPV

LAST YEAR I FOUND OUT I HAD MILD DYSPLASIA, AND IN DECEMBER I HAD THE FREEZING PROCEDURE DONE TO GET RID OF THEM. ALTHOUGH I WAS TOTALLY SCARED OF THE PROCEDURE IT WAS REALLY NOT A BIG DEAL AT ALL. THE PROBLEM IS I JUST WENT BACK FOR MY ANNUAL IN NOVEMBER AND I HAD ANOTHER ABNORMAL PAP SMEAR SO I MUST HAVE THE PRECANCEROUS CELLS AGAIN. I ASKED MY GYNO WHAT THE CHANCES WERE OF ME GETTING IT AGAIN AND ALL SHE REALLY SAID WAS THAT SMOKING CAN INCREASE THE CHANCES (I DON'T SMOKE) AND SHE SAID THAT I SHOULD USE CONDOMS. OTHER THAN THAT SHE TOOK THE DYSPLASIA SERIOUSLY LAST YEAR AND BROUGHT ME BACK INTO HER OFFICE, BUT THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT SHE TOLD ME THAT EVERYBODY HAS HPV, MAINLY ANYBODY THAT HAS SEX HAS IT. OTHER THAN THAT NEITHER MY BOYFRIEND OR I HAVE GENITAL WARTS, AND MY GYNO NEVER EVEN MENTIONED THE IDEA OF ME GETTING THEM. SO DON'T BE SCARED, JUST MAKE SURE YOU GO FOR YOUR ANNUAL PAP SMEAR, AND HAVE THE ABNORMAL CELLS FROZEN OFF IF YOU HAVE THEM.
