Re: Minerals and Teeth

Perhaps I should re-evaluate mg, I seem to have a love/ hate thing with sodium-some days a tiny bit will dry my lips/skin and other days it can hydrate them..

Im wondering about the skin softening effect from potassium because it seems like edema. When I use potassium my skin and lips get plump/soft but putting pressure on my facial skin causes impressions which would be indicative of edema. Sometimes mg, reduces this plump edema (without drying out my skin) so I wonder if the potassium (kcl) is depleting my mg and fooling me with the edema. Mg deficiency can cause edema but so can potassium deficiency.

I will summarize what I have observed thus far perhaps you could help me figure some things out.

kcl-helped with my insomnia a lot, plumps up my skin, usually I have dry, inelastic, tight skin and kcl makes it pliable and elastic, and more doughy thick looking rather than stretched tight thin looking. Teeth are more sensitive. More probability of tongue coating/build up. Blood glucose falls faster, causes hypoglycemia. Kcl plus mg causes tooth sensitivity and leg aches at night.

mg-when my skin is super tight and shiny it relaxes the skin. Sometimes makes my legs ache at night. Sometimes helps with insomnia. unpredictable mineral for me.

zinc-helps reverse the pre-cystic Acne cause by kcl (when I take kcl my blood Sugar falls faster, I have insulin resistance and although kcl helps it causes lots of problems with Acne and pre-cysts bumps under the skin when my blood Sugar falls).
too much zinc will cause dry skin, but a different type of dry than Im used to. (odd)

selenium-even a little causes me insomnia but its the miracle worker when it comes to eliminating blackheads/oxidized oil in pores. Blackheads are my main problem because they scar!

sodium-helps with hypoglycemia but also causes high blood sugar.Too much will cause skin to become very thin and fragile-super fragile like glassy smooth tight and thin (ie pores dissapear and small scratches tear the skin super easy) bizzare! I think this might be a sign of adrenal issues-any thoughts?

Vitamin E-same effects as sodium, plus causes blackheads.

Lecithin-same effects as sodium, really dries out skin and lips.

Lemon juice (bottled) when my lips are intensely dry, cracked and peeling I can take four or more tablespoons of lemon juice and my lips will get soft right away. Not sure if this is edema or what, lemon juice is bad for the spleen supposedly this can cause edema. (Have been told I have a weak spleen)

I seem to have a hard time with the sodium/potassium balance. I can never get on track Im either too high in sodium or too high in potassium. Even a little sodium seems to overtake the potassium. But when I lay off sodium enough to get the softening effects of potassium I get symptoms of adrenal fatigue and hypoglycemia.

I still cant tolerate green veggies they cause the same symptoms of too much sodium (even eaten plain).
I went to a naturalpath who advised me to eat more root veggies and this has been helping with energy. I eat a lot of sweet potatoes and onions and I juice potatoes.

I used to be so allergic to oils but have found that when I eat them with protein I dont have such a problem. Oil/protein has helped thicken up my skin from where it was last year and some scars have improved a lot. But the protein makes my periods very clotty and heavy, which concerns me.

I took Iodine for a while, I need to review my notes I dont remember anything significant but I was doing other things too. Im glad to see that its helping you. You had thyroid issues too didnt you?
Have you tried the zeta water? Electrolytes were really helping me for a while with the dry skin then sodium turned on me and dried me out.

How much of mg, calcium, potassium are you taking and do you take them together or all at different times?
I stopped taking the calcium for a while because my naturopath suggested I take a break. I took some homopathic meds for the liver for two months and felt that it helped a lot, then I felt like I was slipping when I started experiementing with my diet and trying out new foods. Now I am mixed up again. Can you give more details about what type of changes you noticed with Iodine and how long then changes took? Im envious about your skin!

I have a burn story to tell too. I had picked up a pan handle that had been in a 500 degree oven, and actually held onto it for a few seconds. My entire thumb and forefinger was burned pretty deep, the pain was so intense I was faint. Nothing was relieving the pain and I remember reading about how calcium neutralized acid and think I had read about Moreless calling a burn "acid" so I took some of my eggshell calcium (powdered) and applied it to my burns. The pain went away practically on contact but soon after started to hurt again, it was as if the calcium had been neutralized by the burn. So I mixed up A LOT of the powdered eggshell into a bowl of mineral water and kept my hand emersed all night, it neutralized the pain completely. In the morning the blisters that had formed were no longer blisters, where did they go? My husband and I were floored. This was a miracle because I had been healing slow and burns would take at least a week to start to heal. Dead skin peeled for a few days and the skin healed so quickly; in a week there was no trace left. My husband and I still talk about it.

I am afraid to take copper now because I have discovered that zinc helps with the cysts I get. I dont want to neutralize zinc. Any suggestions? Can you remind me of your discovery with copper/skin?

I am not liver flushing, my oil reactions just cleared up recently so I will do my first flush in a few weeks. I plan on doing it without magnesium salts. Have you tried on without since mg causes you such problems? How long are you dry/dehydrated after a flush?

Hope I havent given too much info.

again, glad you are back. I hope you make more progress quickly with the iodine. Im going to be following you around now. =)
