I agree, Mama. The one thing that is glaringly true about the description of this man is that he sounds like a NPD, 100%. There is always someone (someTHING) else that is causing him his difficulties, NOT the personal mistakes that he made managing his own finances, etc.

I guess his ex-wife DOES hate him - sounds like my ex! BUT, my ex managed to maintain the Postal Service job that my father arranged for him (dad knew the postmaster and did everything he could to secure my idiot ex a job).

The GUT feeling......The gut feeling is telling you that this relationship is risky and dangerous, and it is. There is no happy ending for this one, no matter HOW hard you will try or how much you will sacrifice of your Self.

Talk to his ex and explain your concerns. She'll probably vent a lot about what an irresponsible, reckless jerk her ex is, but it's truth and it's HER side of the story.
