Thank you for the additional information. The thing is, until a month ago, I've not been sexually active (meaning anything at all) for 18 years. And, the only activity that's happened in the last month, is what I've mentioned. That's the irony of this..for me, anyway! Is it possible to be dormant for 18 years or longer? Even then, there wasn't any anal contact at that time either.

My doctor said she was doing a viral and a bacterial culture. I assume, she's looking for type-specific viral infections, since she seemed to think it looked like a herpes type infection based on appearance.

I know I should just wait on the results. It's just that my mind has been spinning since, whatever this is, showed up on Wednesday.
